what´s the reason to make so much piercings and tattoos, that nobody recognizes you ??

i have a tatto and a piercing...but soooomuch ?

I am a fairly heavly tattooed woman. I haven't found one person that I know who doesn't recognise me!

I have tattoos, because I like tattoos, they are (as the other half would say) my one vice in life.

I enjoy getting tattooed, and the finished product. I've done the whole piercing scene, and quickly got over it.

I guess you could say that Tattoo's are just 'my thing'!

It's about what makes a person happy. Getting tattoos/piercings doesn't hurt anyone (other than the person being jabbed with a needle, but that's really subjective on if it "hurts"). Why do people bother with different brands of jeans, or shoes? Really, there could be one type of shirt, one type of pant and one type of shoe to protect ourselves, but there's not, there are a billion different styles, so that we can each express ourselves slighlty differently. Piercings and tattoos are just an extension of that. It's also a way of exerting control over your own life. you are choosing to make permanent changes to your body, and you are making yourself unique. Personally, I have 6 piercings and 2 tattoos, and I love them all. They all signify a specific time in my life, and a specific mindset I was in. They are most definitely part of what makes me ME. You said you yourself have a piercing and a tattoo... the thing that made you get one of each is the same thing that makes other people get dozens... it's just about what you like. Again, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone, what does it matter?

That's an interesting question. I have several facial piercings and tattoos all over my body. Nobody has ever had trouble recognizing me!

There are as many reasons for people getting tattooed as there are tattooed people. If you really want to know, ask (politely!). Most people won't mind your questions.

I think the better question would be, why do people get extensive plastic surgery when they already look fine? *They're* the ones that are hard to recognize.

People like to express themselves in different ways.

I consider my body a canvas and I wear tattoos to reflect things that have meaning to my life and tell a story of who I am.

I could care less about what other people think. I have reached the point where I laugh internally when I see the look of disgust on the face of others. I welcome the person that is curious about my body art and has the guts to ask me about it. People seem to change their opinion of me when they actually know the meaning of my tattoos.

I have 26 tattoos and I am getting #27 later today and I do my best not to cover any of them.

I have a great respect for people that dare to be different.

What is that "fine line" of acceptance? So am I ok to look at if I only have 2 piercings and 3 tattoos? Why does my acceptance rate change if I have more?

Pure discrimination.

not sure my ears are pierced twice at the bottom, right one at the top too,yet only wear one set of ear rings now, belly button is pierced,(did that to hide my laparoscopy scars), have a tattoo of a cat hugging a heart on the left hand side of my chest and a heart with flowers and scrolls on my left ankle.
I do these things because it pi**es me off when my hubby thinks he owns me, It's my body, when I turn 30, I may have a Chinese dragon, or the kids names tattooed on the bottom of my back who knows!
Fed up with looking like a goody 2 shoes when really I feel like a b***h reincarnated and just wanna have fun with the world :)

But really, human beings are capable of some really bizarre things...being the superior species can do that to u.

I have a tattoo n 7 piercings...i may get a few more tattoos later... :)

mostly people do it for their own pleasure not for the pleasure of others, i have tattoos and a piercing also but wouldn't go as far as some, but it takes all sorts in this world and it would b a boring place if we were all the same

For me tattoo and piercing is my way of coping with anger and stress in my life. Some people drink and smoke or do other things. I like getting tattoos and piercings.

People say that people get piercings/tattoos not so people will stare but so they wont look so closely.

different people do it for different reasons.

i get piercings and tattoos because i find them beautiful, and because to an extent i don't quite feel complete without them. to me they're an outward expression of who i am, and are necessary to express myself.
