there is no next or past ,all that matters is right now,you cant change the past, you can only change the future, by shaping it today. maybe tomorrow you can be dead. that is why no one must worry about it, just live and do good today

Of course it's possible, lots of people do it every day. Christians would just tell you that this viewpoint is somewhat short-sighted. You're going to be in the next life a lot longer than you will ever be in this one...so why not think about it a little now?

Think of it as if you were moving to a very foreign country next week. What will you be doing with the week you have left here? Preparing for your big move, of course! At the very least, you'll make sure you have a ticket that can get you to your new home...right? Heaven is a foreign country you'll (hopefully) move to someday. Are you ready to move, or are you just hoping someone else takes care of the whole thing for you?

We are to show brotherly love in this life and to think on higher things. I don't think that we are to NOT think about the next.

However, when you truly understand the meaning of life we are to be the change we want to see in this world.

Who told you that you cannot make the best of this life while thinking about the next?

You haven't been researching the right places.

If you don't want to worry about this life and you want to "Be the change you want to see in the world" then do what Jesus said.

Matthew 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Thinking about this life is what gets you to the next.

Wouldn't it be good if everyone could? But people would rather hope for redemption in an afterlife than be redeemed in the present, as it takes too much effort. If no one believed in an afterlife I wonder how respectfully they would treat life.

It'd be ideal to live wholly in the moment without thoughts of the past hovering around or anticipations of the future crowding in.

When we do discover the holy moment, the eternal now, we find all exists within that moment. One moment can hold the universe within its grasp. That moment can extend infinitely yet all can be seen and known within that eternal moment of now.

At that point we see how little it matters and how very much it matters. :-)

The answer to your question: Yes! :-)))

you betcha

really:
making the best of this life is all we do. even if that contains thoughts about the next life. but yes, now we have many cultures fighting over whose afterlife is best rather than creating heaven on earth
