While there are all kinds of debates and ethical issues right now, the most important should be concerning the accuracy of the temperature readings. NASA and global warming alarmists like to minimize it, but recently NASA revised its temperature data for most of the last decade. While claimed to be minor change, according to their data and facts, 1998 is no longer the warmest year on record which leaves 1934 with that distinction. The key is the fact that we now have 5 of the 10 hottest years on record occurring before World War II.
Why do we not hear more about this? Is it because it is an "inconvenient truth"?

The current debate to look at now is in a current issure of I think Time magazine. I could be wrong - it might be a different magazine. It basically gives the other side of the story - how there is a very small but "well-funded" group that doesn't think that global warming is a bad as it's made out to be.
The key words to search under here is "criticism" or "opposition" to global warming. If I find a link to the article, I'll add it to the source below.

There's all manner of debates going on at different levels, most debates are conducted at a scientific level.
There is some debate stemming largely from lay people as to whether global warming is actually happening. It's a difficult debate to follow as it's constantly evolving. A year or so ago may skeptics were saying the world was cooling, that then changed to the world was neither warming or cooling, then it changed to the world is warming but it's natural and there's nothing we can do, now it seems to be changing again. The emerging line of thinking being that the world is waring, it's natural and we should act.
On a scientific level there is rarely such debate as global warming is more or less unanimously accepted. The debates centre more on the technical aspects - what can be done to mitigate the effects, what will be the consequences, where do the priorities lie, what will happen in the future?
There is much debate on a political and economic level particularly concerning how governments should act. Do they introduce legislation, rely on a policy of education and voluntary measures, what steps need to be taken now and in the future?
In fact, it's such a wide ranging subject that impacts on almost every aspect of our lives that it's debated by all manner of people. The military have drawn up contingency plans to deal with mass evacuations, floodings, famines etc. Policy advisors look to the future and consider how neighbouring countries will act should one run out of food or water.
Insurance companies, car manufacturers, oil and power companies, the tourist and leisure industry, agriculture and so many more people are all involved in the debate. They're all wanting answers and are looking to the scientists to provide them.

Mainly people are arguing about whether or not we are causing this drastic climate change. The facts show that WE are adding more than the natural CO2 amounts into the earth. If we continue on like this, the effects will be irreversible. The Oil Industry, on the other hand, are telling us to continue on like this, but they are only say that t for the sake of their business.
But, you have to do your research to decide for yourself. Just type in "Global Warming debates" in to Google and the answers will come right to you. Hope this helps and good luck!! : )

For the Global Warming is not the end of the world side of the argument go to:

As for the arguments that anyone who opposes the alledge Consensus are errand boys for the "evil corporations", one could counterargue that those who promote the hysteria also have a vested interest.
By promoting panic, they get government and NGO to fund their research. In fact, one can argue that by promoting these fears, they are creating cult like followings complete with sins, and hell, and promote themselves as saviors who deserve the largesse of governments and donation of average people. ETHICAL ISSUE: Al Gore wants you to think you are going to die in 5 years if you dont stop driving your Excursion (apparently his fleet of SUVs and his learjet are solar powered)....plus, he needs money to pay his bills....soultion- think of an issue that will make everyone paranoid after watching a video you made about ice caps melting! Oh and one more thing....if global warming exists then why are most of the record high temps in the late 1800s and early 1900s???? no SUV's then if memory serves me correctly. P.S. you have two camps in this issue. on one side is the green scam campers led by 'big al' gore and all the scientists he has threatened to pull funding from. they want you to believe that man is responsible for 'climate change', aka global warming, because of his insatiable appetite for fossil fuels and suv's. they stand to make a fortune selling carbon credits to businesses and individuals along with 'green' technologies such as solar panels and alternative fuels like ethanol.
the other camp is led by an ever tightening group of once afraid scientists, business leaders, politicians and others who have quite a different picture of what is causing this latest blip in planet earth's natural, cyclical, climate fluctuations that have been occurring since weather began here.
the point is, the debate rages on the causes of climate change, however, one side says the debate is over and consensus has been reached while the other is screaming to be heard that it most certainly is and has not!

One debate is "Is global warming caused by man or just a natural occurrence."
"Should gvmt raise taxes and gain more control over peoples lives?"
"Should people accept the guilt of global warming as a condition of being born?"
