There isnt really much to discuss, the statement speaks for its self. Ignorance of the law wont get you out of trouble if you break a law.

Just because you didn't know something was illegal does not mean you should be exempt from prosecution. Ignorance is no defense for breaking the law.
"But officer, I didn't know it was illegal to keep my friend's pot in my car. The pot's not mine. Ask my friend, he'll admit that it's his."
Could be a very true statement. However, it won't change the fact that you will be arrested, charged with possession, and lose your car!

Using the excuse that someone is ignorant indicates that they have an excuse why they chose not to take personal responsibility for their actions. Not good.

Lets put in it the situation like this.
You're in a new country. You crossed on the road and you didnt know that it is illegal to cross there.
It means that ur not excuse to pay on the law even your new in the country. You have to pay for the consequence.
