My wife has been approved for breast reduction surgery. We have United Healthcare Insurance. My question is has anyone ever been approved for a tummy tuck that had united healthcare? If so what did you have to do to be approved? She is trying for the tummy tuck because she has lost over 170 lbs. without stomach reduction surgery, and has excess skin, and has been denied. We are appealing now, and its important to her to get the approval. Any help will be appreciated.

She does have moisture problems, and gets galded, and occasionally boils.

You need to enlist the aid of her physician. It is absolutely necessary that he submit both side and front photos of her stomach with excess skin exposed. This is usually done with the patient either wearing bikini underwear or pulling her briefs down BELOW the excess skin. The doctor should also submit a pre-approval request for surgery along with records documenting the need for the surgery along with the photos. A patient referral is required from her regular physician to her plastic surgeon. You may be able to get more information if you go to http://myuhc.com
United HealthCare is not the easiest insurance company to deal with. I'm up to my ears in paperwork with them now over my husband's heart surgery......to the tune of about $70,000.
They have people working on claims that don't appear to have a day of medical education.

Check the Tummy Tuck board on the site below:
http://www.breasthealthonline.com
I'm not sure a TT can be covered, but you can always try!
There is also a great reduction board there, check it out! :)
Congrats to your wife on the weight loss!

Don’t focus on your flaws, spotlight your best bits. Smaller waist? Belt it in. Gorgeous bust? Lower the neckline. Nicely toned butt? Rock tight jeans. Attractive legs? Show ‘em off. It’s really that simple.

Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

It’s an age old trick but vertical stripes do stretch you out. The contrast of colour straight vertical splits your body in half.

For sandwich-lovers, use spinach or swiss chard leaves rather than a wrap, skip the portion of cheese, and load on the veggies.
