Hi Lily, actually inflammation means swelling. But you can sometimes have a burning sensation with the swelling in an arthritic knee. Treatment would be to keep in elevated as much as possible, take anti inflammatory, and ice your knee for 15min at a time every couple of hrs.

you may have tendonitis inflamation of a tendon/joint
ask your doctor for an antiinflamitory medication .

it can be. there can also be alot of swelling, making it hard to bend or bear weight.
