I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced what I have. Whenever I take flaxseed in any form (oil, whole seeds, powdered), I get this horrible migraine, nerve pain that run across my face and fingers. With primrose oil, I get horrible stomach pains. Does anyone know why this is so? Is it an allergy or something? It's a shame because they are very good oils!! Anyone have the same problem?

I have not heard of anybody experiencing the problems you have with these two supplements. There has to be something in them that you are allergic to. Do not take them anymore. You can try fish oil capsules for the benefits you are looking for.

According to the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative medicine, Flaxseed oil is well tolerated and not associated with any side effects other than increased constipation if not taken with plenty of water. They advise not taking it at the same time you are taking another supplement or standard medication due to the probability it will reduce or block absorption of the other med.

Evening primrose has been associated with loose stools, cramping, abdominal pain. nausea, indigestion, seizures, and headache. Avoid taking more than the standard dose. do not take it at all if you have seizures or are on seizure medicine.

Hope this helps.
