i think of him as a father figure!

oh! i had once slept with his son-in-law. (b4 he got married to his daughter, she is now 27 years old!).

He sees you as easy if you slept with his son in law, but more to the point why did he ask you this and for what reason?
The question can only be answered by you and you alone we cant help on this situation, do you want a older man at 36 years your senior or someone your own age?

Just be honest and tell him you do not think of him like that. But try not to say you see him as a father figure, he may take this a major insult. Explain you are not looking to settle down with anyone and although you are flattered, he is not your type. If you value his friendship, then tell him. I am sure he would rather be your friend than have nothing at all.

Be honest - try to be gentle - be firm - and say you are so sorry if you did something to give him the wrong impression but you are not interested in that relationship with him. Do not leave any doors open.
Unless he is REAL rich and also has a heart condition - JUST KIDDING

Just tell him thank you for his proposal, it means a lot to you, but you don't think of him in that way. I would be direct and honest with him in this respect, and kind also.
As regards sleeping with the son-in-law, your suitor doesn't really need to know this ...

Tell him the truth, and make sure you say NO to him. When you are only 29, he will be a pensioner!
You are tooooooo young for him. Life is toooooo short to make mistakes.
Go and mix with your own generation.
You can still have him as a friend, but only a friend.
