The reason i ask is beacuse a yahoo member responded to my last post and stated that she too had an unhealth relationship with her father based on the question that i posted about my boyfriends daughter

An unhealthy relationship could be anything from inappropriate touching to various abuses. It is kinda hard to determine which when I didn't read your first post.

the most obvious factor would be physical or sexual abuse of any kind. but the mental/emotional abuse is also there, and receives less attention. if there is no open communication, or if the father is always getting angry or emotional, or openly shows his fears of not knowing how to handle things, such things like that can have a devastating effect on the young daughter.

letme tell you the healty side and you find out the unhealthy side.
1.loving her as a daughter
2.empower her to do the right thing
3.be the person she comes to when she has problems
4.do not harm her, in anyway that could lead to unhealthy relationship.

when i think of unhealthy i think sexually abusive. i believe there would be tell tale signs of this. the way they interact or how the girl responds to various things would be suspicious.
