Just wondering if you have started any traditions with your children for holidays.
We have made a Thanksgiving tree. We made a leafless tree out of construction paper and hung it on a large empty section of wall in our home. Every Thanksgiving we all get a few construction paper "leaves" of different colors. Before dinner we write things we are thankful for on the leaves and hang them on the tree.
Every year the tree gets fuller and we get a chance to remember that we are thankful.
Please share your traditions.

Well, my Mom passed away Oct. 20, 2006 and my little brother passed away Jan. 20, 2007, so traditions have sort of been pushed aside due to grief. BUT, for Thanksgiving, my son (8 1/2) and I will go to a family members house, or go to Disneyland.

Christmas Eve, we open gifts with my bonus (step) Dad, then we go to my biological Dad's house and sleep over. In the morning, we open gifts with my Dad, step-mom and step brother and have breakfast and I have lots of coffee! Then, since Christmas is also my birthday, my son and I spend the rest of the day at Disneyland. His birthday is 4 days prior, so we go to the Birthday celebration, decorate cakes and get to meet Mickey. It's a lot of fun, and it's what we ALWAYS do!

The night before Easter, I make a basket hunt. It's like a scavenger hunt with plastic eggs. I draw a picture of where to go next and put it in the eggs. The last egg takes him to his basket. I also don't put any candy in his basket. He gets books and small toys and stuff like that. After that, we eat Easter eggs for breakfast then we go to Church.

Most of our Holiday traditions include reading (from the Bible) the story of Jesus' birth, for Christmas, and the story of His death and resurrection, for Easter. We also don't do the Easter Bunny or Santa. I want my son to know the REAL reason why we celebrate these holidays.

Memorial Day, we go to my Papa's gravesite and decorate it with American Flags. He was in the Navy and it is our little way of honoring his service to our country.

As for the other holidays, we don't have much in the way of tradition.

Have a great day!

Every year, since our kids were born, we go to the mall, have Dinner at Kelsey's and they buy a Christmas Tree Ornament each. Our tree ranges from Barbie to Hot Wheels to Dora to Toy Story. We bought a separate tree just for the kids ornaments.

I don't have kids yet, but growing up we had many traditions. It's the traditions that makes relationships meaningful. We had shabbat dinner every Friday night and Mom made challah. Now that both my parents have passed, I continue to cherish the memory.

Very nice. We all tell what we are most thankful for just before we eat on Thanksgiving Day.
