We should not compare Pope John Paul II with this pope because they are different. Pope Benedict XVI is an intellectual, a theologian whereas Pope John Paul II was a charismatic.
It is about time the Church reasserts its doctrines. This Pope is making that happen.

John Paul II was an extraordinary figure, the likes of which we probably won't see again, but this new Pope is a great theologian and teacher, in his own right.

well, my favorite Pope is Pope John Paul II as well, but the new Pope also has my full respect like the same respect I have for Pope John Paul II.
