That is tapeworm. It is actually a very long worm in her intestines. What you have seen are segments breaking off. The segments usually die within minutes leaving them to look like dried rice. I suggest that you get some tapeworm medicine from a vet Drontal comes to mind. usually only one pill is needed.

Tapeworm usually is a result of a flea bite that was carrying the tapeworm larvae. Best to treat her for fleas with advantage or frontine also found at the vets.

These are either tape worms or round worms, and if they are dropping out of her left and right, you need to get your kitty to the vet asap. Do NOT use any type of over-the-counter worming product (like the stuff they sell at Wal-Mart, etc.)--you can actually kill your cat with this stuff. Make an appointment with your vet right away because, chances are, your kitty is also loaded with fleas. Flea bites cause cats & dogs to have worms. Also, when you call your vets office, they will probably tell you to bring in a stool sample with you. The vet needs to know what type (or several different types) of worms they will be treating for. Please do NOT try to do this yourself--this is a job for a professional.

Tapeworms are long flat worms composed of many segments. Eggs are shed in faeces by releasing segments of the worm containing eggs. These segments resemble grains of rice in appearance and can sometimes be seen on the hair around the anus of the cat, in the faeces and on the cat's bed.

They are of no danger to you. Sounds like a common worm for cats called the round worm. They need to be treated though so they don't get sick from them. Contacting a vet is your best bet.

If they're also sort of flat, they're tapeworms.

Take the worm and a piece of her poop to any veterinarian office and they can do a check on it to make sure what kind of worm it is, and give you the proper medicine to get rid of them in your cat.

You have to treat for the right kind of worm, but don't worry, they're ALL able to be eliminated in your pet.

If they look like pieces of rice, then it could very well be Tape worm. Go to PetSmart and get the dewormer and make sure it says tapeworm on there. Not all dewormers kill Tapeworm. Dont worry, your cat will be fine. Just do this ASAP.

Get the por thing to a vet. Even if you know what type of worm it is, which you probably don't,, don't try to treat it yourself with over the counter stuff you could really hurt your cat. Also, the worms could be causing pain or extreme itching either way your kitty is not comfortable (neither would you be) so all the way around, if you love you kitty get him/her to vet ASAP The could be pinworms, roundworms (very dangerous) and also tapeworms VERY VERY dangerous /

Well being a resposible pet owner you surely would have wormed your cat every three months like you are supposed to? no?
Serves you right for being so irresponsible!
Take her to the vet and while you're there ask him how to care for your animal properly!!

If they look similar to a piece of rice, they are probably tape worms. Regardless of what type of worms they are, you need to take your cat to a veterinarian to get medicine to kill the worms. It is highly unlikely that you will get the worms.
