In the bible it says that homosexuality is an abomination to God, therefore Christians conclude that homosexuality must be choice. Funny enough, is it written in the bible that homosexuality is a choice? I don’t think so. So you’re making your own conclusions. But of course, if God created gays Himself and then turned around to condemn them, it would be quite hard for Christians to accept.

We first have to define homosexuality. Homosexuality is the sexual attraction towards the same sex. It’s not like you have to have had sex in order to become a homosexual like Christians believe. Did you become a heterosexual only after you had sex with the opposite sex? Is Mother Teresa and Virgin Mary non-sexual beings because they never had sex?

Now the next question is, did you choose to be heterosexual? Is heterosexuality a life style?

Homosexuality is also found in animals, so are you saying that rodents consciously make the choice to live a homosexual lifestyle?

Now I want all you Christians to swear on your necks that you made a conscious “choice” to become heterosexual! And I want you to swear that gays are not born gay but they consciously make the choice to be gay! Since you guys sound so confident when you say that homosexuality is a choice, it wouldn’t be such a difficult thing to do, huh?

But I bet none of you dare to do it, which means that you aren’t as sure about your little fairy tale book as you might have thought!

Oh, of course, “I swear on my neck that homosexuality is not a choice, but people are born gay!”

I don't understand people who dislike Homosexuality because they claim some book tells them to. Seriously, its beyond me. Homosexuality is not a crime, it is not evil. If all "sins" were to send someone to "hell" then over 80 million people alone would go to "hell" for divorcing their wife/husband (in the U.S.). Religion should be a spiritual awakening, not something that condemns you for being human.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

You don't have to believe us, and I don't expect you to. When someone wants to justify their sin they are going to come up with excuses and try to start a big debate that isn't necessary.
The Lord is the one you and whoever else will have to answer to on judgement day for living this lifestyle just like anyone else who lives in sin.
Does being gay mean that much to you? Enough to lose your soul? Because if it does you really need Deliverance. I'll be praying for you!

Don't assume that all Christians believe what you just said. I do believe that God loves everyone of us, no matter what. The Bible does say it is a sin. I could choose to be with a woman, and had that offer to be, I chose to be with a man. I am not gay and I don't judge those who are. Read the Bible and see what it says for yourself. It does say sin is sin, no matter what you do. No sin is bigger than another. It does say that homosexuality is a sin. I don't think that most choose to be that way. I have friends who are and they love themselves and I have friends who are that are in so much turmoil about who they are. They get so much grief over it. I also know women who do Choose to be with other women. They said that women are more sensitive.

I do know that We are ALL given paths to choose from throughout our lives and we choose which path to go. You are choosing to categorize all Christians to what you have said above. Don't put everyone into the same category. That is being judgmental. People just don't know what each persons life is about or what they are going through.

God doesn't want us to judge others. In the end, it is he who will judge. It is our jobs to live through Jesus and be Christlike. We are not perfect by any means.

because its an insult to mankind to suggest he has no control over where he or she puts his/her genitalia.

Your question about whether we chose to be heterosexuals is based on a false premise. You are assuming there are only two choices: Gay or Straight. In reality there are three choices. The third would be the most typical choice: Dont make a decision. When you dont make a choice then default programming sets in. And the default programming is heterosexual.

However, the point is really moot since even if homosexuality is natural, being natural doesnt make it right. Lying, cheating, stealing, violence, hate, intolerance, apathy, greed, etc are al natural. That doesnt make them good.

In fact, the entire message of the Gospel is we dont have to give into the natural man because Christ can change human nature. We can put off the natural man and become born again of the Spirit. We can become a new creature. a changed creature.

So your argument is premised on a misunderstanding of both choices and more importantly a misunderstanding of the message of the Gospel.

Ok... first... the virgin Mary did have sex, only after Jesus was born... just had to get that out of the way.

I remember being attracted to both sexes as a child. I experimented while I was growing up, and found that I like men more than women. I wouldn't necessarily say that I consciously "chose" my orientation, but I made an educated guess based on my experiences.

I do not believe that homosexuality is a genetic trait. Nor do I believe that homosexuals make a conscious decision on the matter. For some, there is a clear-cut reason to shun the opposite sex. For most, there is not. The short answer is that I don't know. If I believe that having Jesus in your heart is the only thing you need to get to heaven, how can I explain a person who is homosexual who ALSO believes in Jesus? I can't, nor is it my place to do so.

You can thumbs-down me all you like, but give me credit... it is hard for a Christian to come in here and admit some of these things.

**Not bisexual. There is a certain part of the male anatomy that I cannot live without where my sex life in concerned. I found what I like and am happy with it.

Because most (outside of some Calvinists) believe in free will. Which makes pretty much any action a choice, "I had a bad childhood" or "I couldn't stop myself" aren't seen as real reasons. That is why they always trot out the "hate the sin not the sinner" bit. To them you are only homosexual if you commit homosexual acts (ask them how the covetting bit works, I never got that)

So to them, there isn't a "heterosexual lifestyle" there is righteous or sin-filled.

Animals not having intelligence, can't sin, thus to them it doesn't matter anymore than they'd be shocked by cannibalism in an animal.

If you're going to argue with them, you have to understand their mindset, not just impose yours on them. A lot of Christians don't think man and animals are related, so why would you try to convince them by using animals as examples?

I asked a similar question to a work collegue, he was going on about how much he hates gays. So I asked him how do you know it is so wrong to be gay? He siad because what they do to each other is discusting. I then asked him if he has ever thought about having sex with another man? He spat out no never thats sick. Finally I asked him if you have never thought about it how do you know it is discusting, did someone just tell you one day and you believed them? Or are you lying and you have thought about it and find the thought of another man pleasuring you somewhat exciting, but you are trying to act hard in front of everyone? He then went red and told me to shut the f*** up. I laughed!

It doesn't matter if it is or not. I was born with a tendency toward alcoholism. Didn't ask for it, didn't choose that. I still have it. It almost ruined my life. So now, I make a moment by moment choice NOT to participate in a destructive behavior. There are times I'd give a thousand dollars for a drink. But I choose not to. The choice is not in whether or not we have a certain weakness. The choice is in how we handle it.

Go ahead and act on it and see what the long term efects are. It's your choice!

i still believe that homosexuality is a choice. i do not agree with anyone being born with that spirit. it can be a learned thing but you dont come out your moms womb liking the same sex. that is lies from satan. half the gays cant make up their mind if they like the same sex or the opposite!! one week their gay and the next their straight. i think its some kind of trend.

Oh my! I think you might have some issues.

Not all Christians think homosexuals chose to be homosexuals. I believe that you are born that way. The bible might say it is a sin to be gay, but it also says no one sin is greater than any other, and We Have All sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Please don't judge all Christians for the ignorance and intolerance of some.
