Lake represents trials, worry, anxieties, stress, and the issues of life. You are seeing your son go through some issues which he is drowning in and going under and you feel helpless.

People often turn to dream books to interpret the meaning of their dreams, but really each dream/dreamer is individual.
However, the subconscious mind is rather metaphorical, so it shouldn't be too difficult for you to work it out yourself.
It does sound as if you are worried about your son.
You don't say how old he is, but it seems that you feel that he is getting too deeply invoved in something, and you feel he is getting a bit lost.
It is a dream which reflects your worries about your son.

Is there a problem that your son is having at the moment? If so, it could be that you are unsure how to help him and are afraid that you and your son could be overwhelmed. Water indicates emotions in a dream so it may be an emotional problem that is threatening to overwhelm you and/or your son.

This dream suggests to the dreamer that he may be overwhelmed by unresolved emotions, old issues, or a current crisis. It suggests that a release of the old is necessary in order to emerge and begin anew.

Are you stressed these days? Pressure at work or something? If this is happening and you are wondering how I found out it's simple we usually see lakes when we are stressed. Have you fears about something about your son? Don't worry forget it.

You are watching your son grow up and you are forced to stand by helplessly and watch him make his own mistakes and figure his own life out. There is not a whole hell of a lot that you can do about it.... tough times. Part of having these beautiful bouncing babies.... they grow up and they take on their own just like you and I did... a nd our parents before.

OK,your son might suffer a difficulty in living or work and you were not able to help him to solve his problem even if you wanted so.

Perhaps it means that your son is struggling with something (just like you struggle in water), perhaps school or bullying or something like that?
