Ammonia. They do have stuff to remove it. You can't hurt anything. You start pealing as much as you can. What is left is the adhesive. It melts with an ammonia base solvent. It is a mess to get off. You do your best with a lot of Windex, a glass scraper and a lot of time.

Hi. You can take off tint in a couple ways. Depending on your situation (if the tint is on an automobile or a housing window) you can choose from the following.

You will need: a spray bottle. A sharp razor blade that you can scrap with. Possibly, some iodine.

Automobile: For windows, spray the window everywhere till it's a soak. Your door electronics will be fine. Simply take a razor blade and start scraping it off. Be sure to get the transparent glue too all around the window. It may be necessary to "pop" the window out to get the tint that goes below the rubber lining. Periodically, spray the window while you scrape.

For the back automobile windshield: if it has those heating lines on it, you will have to wait for a really hot and sunny day. This is because you can't scrap at it due to the lines. Simply soak the tint in iodine by spray it, and stick it in direct sun. Eventually the tint will peel off manually and automatically. Be careful not to damage your heating lines.

Housing windows: if there are no special lines on it, just scrap it off like you would an automobile window.

Remember to keep the tint and window wet and be very careful not to cut yourself.

Good luck.

Have the window you are working on, towards the sun. Spray (soak) with an ammonia based window cleaner. Let sit for half hour. Carefully scrap with a razor blade (after peeling what you can).

If it's factory tint, it is IN the window, therefore it doesn't come out. You just have to replace the window. If it's not, scraping with a sharp razor is your best bet.
