All I know is that Hepatitis virus A only causes acute hepatitis and resolve by itself after some weeks. I never heard that it causes chronic hepatitis. What I know of is that HepB and HepC are the one that can cause chronic hepatitis...Am I wrong?

As a generalization, you are correct. As we age, the mortality from a hepatitis A infection increases, but it is mainly an acute infection. Remember, hepatitis A is generally acquired from food and water contaminated by human feces. Wash your hands well.

There is a vaccine to protect you.

Hi! I don't think so.Hep A is otherwise called infectious hepatitis because it is easily transferable. You get this from eating or drinking food and water contaminated with the virus and, altho' to a lesser degree, from infected fomites. In short, the oral-fecal route. HepB, C etc. are transmitted parenterally i.e. thru a break in the skin or membranes such as in blood transfusions or donations, intravenous procedures or even sexually transmitted. Acquiring this type of hepatitis early on in life such as at birth gives a greater risk of developing chronic hepatitis or liver cancer.this is why even pregnant women are routinely screened for hepatitis so that if they turn out +, their baby can be given immediate remedies upon birth. There are vaccines for hep A and hep B, however the former is usually not routine as compared with the latter which is mandatory because of the above reasons. There are no available vaccines yet against the other types of hepatitis (as far as i know).
You know, prevention is still better than cure especially if your kind of job entails it....

i also no that chronic hep b in new borns by means of infected mothers can b cured by 3 shots of vaccinations... but hep b carriers aka chronic hep b people can never be cured and may very likely die of liver failure due to induced cirhosis or liver cancer

and i also think that acute hep b is when it is too late and the patient is probably in the last stage... with no means of saving..
