If the war went Nuclear, the answer would be France. It has 150 more missiles and have tested them so much they know they work well.
If it didn't go Nuclear, it would be stalemate, France has a much larger armed forces around 300,000 more between active and reserve forces. But UK troops have had more combat experience.
This all depends on these are the only two fighting.
France also has access to much more raw materials and a defence industrial complex larger than that of Britain, particularly in regards to military aircraft.

If this happened in the near future clearly Britain would win. In the years following WW2 Britain has been involved in a great number of conflicts around the world while France with the exception of Indo-China/ Vietnam has avoided any clearly defined conflict.
Also while it is widely documented that Britains Regiments/ Battalions etc are exhausted due to heavy fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan these combat formations have developed a combat mentality and experience which would count hugely in any potential conflict between the two. The French however, have had little recent combat experience with the exception of a limited deployment to Afghanistan.
The best combat formation within the French Army is also the Foreign Legion made up of international troops and a fair number of British citizens who would not fight against the mother country.

Come on Mate, ..No contest, remember the old story .......breaking BBC news item......The coast, near Dover was invaded today, by the entire French Army.....however, residents have no reason to be alarmed...they retreated after being confronted by two local Shepherds, waving their sticks....
Remember the one about new Tank developed by the French Military.....The Transmission had 6 " Reverse ' Gears " and 1 "Forward Gear",...... just in case ,the enemy attacked from the rear.
Go the Poms, can`t play Rugby , but they can fight ,when they need to .

France because they have an independent nuclear force whereas the British would have to ask permission from the Americans as they hold the codes.
