It depends.
I'm 26, marrying a 42 year old. With a 16 year age gap, I need to accept that it is very likely I will outlive him, and/or I will eventually end up taking care of him as he ages.
As for "lovers", with a younger woman and an older man, the older man likely will not have the same drive as the younger woman...and also, as he ages, may have problems with performace.
But, love conquers all...and if both partners are aware of the potential problems before they start, they can tackle them together.
So...Yes....the large difference in age does affect the relationship....but yes, they can be happily married.

Not 9 years no! If you are truly in love you will work hard to find a way.....ive seen relationships with an age gap of 15 years still going strong after ages!

Please help us answer the question more accurately, and in a more helpful way--give us the actual ages and not just the difference.
There is a big difference between 17 and 26, but not such a big difference between 47 and 56.
It would also help us to know which is older, the man or the woman.

it depends.. meaning... 9-18 will affect a relationship but 18 - 27 may not.. My aunt's husband is ten years older than my uncle but they married when she was 20.. All that is good..

They can get married as long as it is legal.
It might affect lovers, only if they don't talk about it. It would also affect them if they go into marrige with something on their mind that it is bothering them.
be open talk about it.

Don't worry. My grandparents are 15 years apart. My boyfriend's father and stepmother are 8 years apart and his grandparents are 10 years apart.
They all married their significant other.

i think so. If they really love each other i think they should, but they need to think about whether or not they're marriage will impact any other relationships i.e. relationships with family, friends and if they're comfortable with the fact that if they get married will they mind if they don't have the same relationship with their parents or friends.
