If there is a $20,000 bail, is there still a chance of deportation for the judge to order?

At least in Ohio, the inmate reception center is where they send the prisoners when they are first transferred from the county jail to the state prison system. The state then evaluates each prisoner to determine where they will be sent for their permanent housing. Normally the inmate is as the reception center for 3 to 6 weeks and then is sent to their home facility/permanent housing for the rest of their term.

The inmate reception center is where the inmate gets processed, evaluated and then ultimately goes to a regular correctional facility after all that processing, they are usually moved anywhere from 45 to 90 days depending on your state.

I believe that, yes, permanent housing means prison. Just because there is a bail set does not mean that the person will not go to prison, it means that the person will be somewhat free to move around in society until they are sentenced.

Hope this helped...
