Does anyone out there have an understanding of dream interpretation? I'm quite stressed at the moment, waiting for important news about my career which should come today, and concerned about a relatively new relationship. Last night I dreamt that I was pregnant (I'm not in real life!) and that I went in to labour. At the hospital though, the midwife, instead of delivering the baby, began preparing an abortion.
Any ideas?

Your career could be the baby as it may mean the most to you. Now the abortion could mean that instead of producing in your career you might not produce.

Hi Laura,

Let's look at it..........

I was pregnant (I'm not in real life!)

((dream opens by saying you are expecting something... ))

and that I went in to labour.

((It is about to arrive.....whatever that might be....))

At the hospital though, the midwife,

((someone is there helping you along the way... You are not alone.... the hospital is the place where help is given....))

instead of delivering the baby, began preparing an abortion.

((However, someone is in the way of your expectation... Dream says that you believe they may be trying to take it away from you......Keep you from enjoying the moment of when it should arrive....))

Keep in mind too, that this person in the way, trying to take away your "bundle" of joy, could also be an aspect of yourself.... Sometimes we often get into those periods of doubt... that's when it steals it from you.... Have faith!!! Good things will come if you believe it!!!

Your sister,
ginger

I would read this as the pregnancy is either your new relationship or your career. I feel it is your career.
You are frightened of failure, frightened that what you have done, like exams,is going to be enough to win you the prize.
Your mind has interpreted this as pregnancy, but fear has turned into an abortion, failure in other words.
I wouldn't fret over it, it is quite normal to have doubts and worries thinking have we done enough, could I have done it better?.
My instinct on your relationship is that you are not 100% committed just yet. Something has happened that is causing you doubts. Your career may be about to take off, you are thinking, do I want this person with me, will this person come with me?.
Hopefully by the time you read this, the news you are waiting for has arrived and things are much clearer. Good luck.

dreaming of being pregnant usually means an expectancy, or a "giving birth" to something new..... it's irrelevant what that "new" thing is......... (not always, but 9 times out of 10) with the information you shared, i'd say it's relevant to your career and your new relationship.
Perhaps you're a bit fearful of these new things and new changes, which are represented by the pregnancy itself.
These things becoming reality (or just about) is represented by you being in labour..... as the "baby" is coming, so ready or not........ here it is lol.
abortion represents murder and a premature death.
in this case, perhaps you feel that someone is standing in the way of your new career, or your relationship? IDK.... in which case the midwife..... who's supposed to be there to help you deliver the baby.... is the obstacle in the way. in stead of providing help, she's essentially 'murdering' your dream, or your hope. represented by the abortion.

The dream isn't giving you an affirmation of positive things as in terms of "you're getting the job" or "the relationship will work out fine" .... it's just dealing with your fears and anxieties concerning these things, (pregnancy) and that you have to be prepared to deal with them (being in labour).... and your fears that somone is standing in the way of these "dreams" becoming a reality..(i.e., the midwife preparing an abortion) ..

Pregnancy and giving birth as well as abortion, can represent a lot of different things in dreams..... but i do think this has a lot to do with the current affairs of your life presently.

this is just an opinion. take with a grain of salt.....

It just means that you really don't want to get pregnant right now as it would screw up your career and lovelife and your subconcious is reinforcing it by showing you the scarey implications of a pregnancy right now.

If you are worried about your current method of contraception, use two methods and hopefully that should help your anxiety.

I think you may still get the Job, but the dream is suggesting to you that the job may not be the way forward you should be taking.
You could be setting yourself up to miss the opportunity of something better later in time if you take it.

Yeah, it means that you are pregnant with the hope and idea of great change in your life, but your fear is that the career change may not come. Which is represented by the abortion.

it gives me the impression that your maby looking for an escape! if you are nervous or anxious maby the abortion represents the fact you want to escape it and go back to normal! if in the dream you had the baby you would have had a huge burdan having the abortion was the escape!

It indicates your fear of the new relationship and unpredictable career. It's just the fear.
Nothing else. Cheer up!
