I always receive a hypocritical response?

2007-08-28 20:06:40 · 15 answers · asked by WIl 2 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

I ask questions like why do people think that God creates all life when it is a decision people make. If some one wants a kid they can have one and if they don't want a kid they can use birth control. Now if a woman uses birth control that means that a person that would have existed had she gotten pregnant is now non existent.

How do you know the person is giving you a hypocritical response when you don't even know the person answering your question?
In order to be a hypocrite, you have to say something, and do the opposite.
How then, are you able to tell that the person is being a hypocrite?

As far as your statement goes, God created life, but part of that creation was the ability to reproduce--so God still created the life (IE the species) but the life decided to reproduce on its own.

I see nothing hypocritical about anything you said. We all have our own biases, based in part on our religious beliefs, of course. You are going to get cynical responses from people who disagree with you of course.

And if you are asking a serious question, then you deserve a serious answer, not some regurgitated dogma from someone not clever enough to articulate what they just said into their own words.

Well u hould talk to jehovahs witneses, there not hypocritical and i wonderd the same but there actelly nice ppl,wen ever you see one just aproch them and start a convo with them or wen they know on your door open and talk to them.
The Reson doh is probebly that most religions today that say have anything to do with Good do the exact opposite, wich is sad but God at the moment dosent hav much control but satan does he is the ruler of this sistem of things, but thats a bit complicated to explain on here, but becos the devil (satan) is the ruler of sistem of things he has control over many religions, falsreligions that clame to obey Gods comandment but they dont.

Dear Will S,

The answer to your question: How much control does God have over our lives is simply how much we decide to surrender to His will.

God does indeed give us free will (like in your example of having a child). But keep in mind that God is all-knowing and so nothing surprises him- when a couple decides to use conraception and not have a child- God is not surprised by their decision to not have a child.

That's the battle anyways. God wants people to yield to Him and His ways- and people often struggle and want to follow their own ways. God will not force us- though He has the ability to.

So if the question is how much control of our lives does God have- it depends on how willing we are to submit to Him.

But that does not mean that God is not in control of everything (meaning that He couldn't intervene into a situation). For example Pastor Raul Reis of Calvary Chapel Diamond Bar was sitting at home (before he met Christ) and was waiting for his family to come home and he was going to kill them and himself- and while waiting he saw Pastor Greg Laurie on TV and heard the gospel of Jesus and repented. There is an example of man making a decision but God intervening. So i think there are times knowing things like this that people who follow God understand that nothing is beyond his control-- but every believer knows it is up to the individual to yield control of their lives to Jesus.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Really! Did you choose to be born into your family, race, creed, country, social status, etc.?
If you can answers all that without God in it then God is not in control ; otherwise think again - He may be in control of your life too!

I think it is human nature in people to do so. I am a firm believer in Jesus, lost my faith a few times but I also believe in kindness and honest answers. Good Question

Ask God for the gift of discernment.

C'mon. ask Him
Ask Him NOW!
Say the words: Say: "Please God" (repeat after me!)
Say: "Please God, I beg of you, from all that is holy in heavens and upon the Earth, grant unto me the GIFT of DISCERNMENT!"

Now say "THank You!"

Don't bother me with silly questions anymore.
