Yes that's right he along with everyone else who has ever died or will still die when humans die they go back to the dust they were made from, to nonexistence just like they were non-existent before they came into existence.

Adam was a perfect man , in which he had a very good opportunity to live a good life and make wise decisions.
When he rebelled from under Gods rule , he knew the punishment was death.
Adam would have seen animals be born and die , so he knew what was at stake.
But his desire to be greater than what he was made to be lead him to make a serious mistake.

The result was a drop to an imperfect state as he was now flawed.

The result simply put is death.

So Adam (and Eve) then started to grown old and eventually they died.
Just like animals there bodies decomposed back to its basic components and these went into the ground.
Technically not dust , but dust (which is worthless) gives a good description to the unscientific minded.

So , the first couple died and went back to the ground , just as the Bible said.

Dear westa,

Genesis 2:7 tells us that: Then the Lord God formed man of the dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being.

In Genesis 2:17 God warned Adam and Eve that if they ate from the tree they would surely die.

Genesis 3:19- where it states that Adam would return to dust- is a reminder of the Fall of man.

Because Adam and Eve had sinned -- previous to their sin they had eternal life- they would now face death.

So in Genesis 3 when it talks about Adam returning to dust- it was a reminder that he would die- he would return to dust- be buried in the dust. But also amazinlgy when a person dies his body decays and becomes "dust".

Hope that helps and makes sense. Kindly,

Nickster

NO. His body would decompose and turn into dust. More simply put: He was going to die.

1 Adam is made from dust
2 Adam messes up and whole world is doomed
3 God punishes Adam by making him mortal
4 Adam dies and becomes dust.

Conclusion: He doesn't exist anymore on EARTH but might exist* somewhere else. (*Depends if you believe in a life after life and the concept of having a soul)

Is this question keeping you awake at night? If so, you should read the Bible while your still awake.

Reflect: " and the man CAME TO BE A LIVING SOUL." Thus, he simply wasn't before. And would reaturn to not BEING, should he choose to not listen to his maker. Adam's gone forever. Death is the OPPOSITE of life.
This harmonizes with Ezek. 18: 4 and Eccl. 3:19; 9: 5, 10

Adam was formed from dust:
Genesis 2:

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Adams earthly body would be no more it would return to dust when he died.

From what I am told There is no Heaven or Hell in the Jewish religion (I could be wrong).

Our souls go to heaven not our earthly bodies.
Some churches teach there was no way for anyones soul to go to heaven until Jesus died for our sins.

John 3:13 - 20

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Adam was NOT born of a woman, he was created by God from dust. Since he was not born of a woman, then he had no belly button. Think about it.

Every man returns to dust - common quote. We weren't dust to start with, but once we die and our body decomposes, yeah we will be a form of dust. Especially if our bones are crushed in a new shopping development.
