NAVY questions?

I am a female and I am 18 years old and I really want to join the navy....please let me know what you think if you have ever been in the service...i am doing it for education, travel and life experience

As they say at the race track, that's a winning trifecta. I did 25 years. 13 of them as an enlisted man. Received a commission from the ranks and spent 12 more years as an officer, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. In the process I saw places and met people that my peers in Brooklyn could only dream about. And I worked in an organization which recognized you were an adult, treated you that way and expected you to act as one. That's a pretty good trifecta too.

imagine yourself attending college , traveling the world and at home trying to give your future child a bath all with one leg.

Does the navy still have the same appeal for you ?

Go to college .... you will get an education , will eventually have lots of opportuntities for travel and life experience. With both your limbs. If you are still interested in Navy ... maybe the war will have cooled off AND you will be able to enter the military as an officer. Much better for you.

I'm in the Navy DEP.
I find out tomorrow if I can ship in sept.

I think it's a great idea. They have the best food in their chow halls as compared to the other branches, btw. Have you ever considered Intelligence?
