Hello. I heard somewhere that someone said that farting in the toilet is quieter than out in the open. However, I don't find this to be tru from the amplification, echo, reverb effect, etc. Was wondering your thoughts on this. Thanks.

My husband spends a long time in the toilet.
Only recently, did I discover the reason. Aside from the diarrhea, he farts a lot ; in series; in reverberie and in solitude. I don't hear it at all; except my nosy grandaughter when she has her ear plastered to the door. No stereo effects; no echo.

I guess the toilet bowl and the water does muffle the sound. Maybe he's equipped with a silencer.

Do you know that farts are due to waste products- methylene gas and acids -produced by the chemical breakdown of foods?
