OK, so I got my cat spayed a few days ago, and she is almost back to normal, she is eating and playing some. I can tell she is feeling better, but her stiches look well....nasty, She is very swollen around the stiches, and she licks it all the time. Should I take her to the vet or is that normal? Please help!!! I love my Baby!!!

call the vet and explain how they look... if they feel "hot" to the touch, perhaps she has an infection. in that case, yes she needs to go back to the vet.
i hope things work out!! i love your cat too! hugs

She likely has an infection from licking her wound. Try to do your best to keep her from licking at it, and get her into the vet as soon as you can.
They may give you a bottle of some nasty liquid to put around the wound to keep her from licking it. It's supposed to taste nasty, but it didn't stop our kitten. She would lick it, then shake her head like it tasted bad, then lick it again...repeating the process. We took her back to the vets once more and got her a cone to put around her head.
The cone is well, you'll feel sorry for her. We would lock her in a small room come dinner time, and take the cone off so she could eat. She was monitored the whole time to make sure she wasn't licking her wound. Then, we'd put the cone back on her.
I'd recommend if you have a collar for her to take it with you to the vet. I'd likely request the cone, even though they act like it's misery, it really is a good thing to do when they are determined to lick their wounds and you can't monitor them 24/7.
She'll get better soon I promise! Ours is back to being mischievous as ever!

i would definatly atleast call the vet and describe to them what the incision looks like. is is red or is there any fluid coming out? she might need antibotics. when i had my female spayed i did become worried because she ripped almost all her stiches out ( they told me to keep her calm, lol!) and it was swollen. it almost looked like a lump under the skin. the vet said that was her bodies natural reaction to having organs removed, the body fills that empty space with fluid and it would go away in a few days. Maybe that's what the swelling is about? still you should call or take her in just to be on the safe side. good luck

Well it sounds like she caused an infection by licking them. Your vet should have told you to buy an E-collar if your cat starts to lick at the stitches. Its normal to have a little swelling, but any redness or more than a little swelling needs to be treated. You need to take her to the vet, probably get some antibiotics and an E-collar. Your vet should have given you the propper after care info.

Yikes, sounds like she may have become infected where the stitches are! It may itch but, hurt too much for her to scratch, hence why she is licking the area. Get her to the vet soon, before the infection is worse. Don't forget SWELLING = INFECTION
Also, we don't want it to get so bad that she does start scratching it because then she could rip her stitches out and all hell will break loose then.
swelling = immune system in action (in this case the immune system fighting off bacteria)
take her asap and get those antibiotics from the vet,
thanks

Definitely call vet, they will probably want to see kitty. My last female got a slight infection at one end of her incision and they had me use a wash on gauze a few times a day, and she healed just fine. But make sure you check this out because the infection could go inward, and you don't want that. Good luck, I'm sure with proper treatment she will be fine before you know it.

Sounds like a possible infection. I would take her to the vet. You can call and describe it, but more than likely, they will want to see her. As you stated, you don't want to take any chances. It's better to be safe than sorry.

your vet should've told you to never let her lick them. my cat had to wear an e-collar for two whole weeks coz she popped her stitches then she tried to pull her staples out. your cat needs antibiotics STAT or she'll get very, very sick.
