My mom passed and I have two sisters, The oldest is the beneficiary, we are suppose to pay the funeral home back but she keep telling us the check havent cleared. I think she's keeping it, it has been 2 weeks already.

I think backs will wait 9 - 14 **business** days for the check to fully clear (mostly for large dollar amount checks) before they will complete the deposit. So she might be right (wishing the best intentions), hope it works out for you.

Because insurance companies are notorious for putting stop payments on checks, most banks hold them until they clear - and 2 weeks is about right. (I had one that took 19 days) It should clear this week though...

It usually takes about 10 business days. Size doesn't matter. It's a banking process.

Thats about the time the check should clear. Ask the bank.
Ask your sister in chich bank she deposited and then ask the bank, easier...

It could take a few weeks but at least 5 business days.

if you know the bank she uses call them ang ask them that same ? dont ask if it is in her acount just ask how long it would take a check like that to be in a acuont but it should have been in buy now
