I'm just curious because my 7 year old adores those shows and the actors are supposed to be 12-15 years old. And now she has the 5 year old watching it!

Yeah I'm leaning towards I'm being paranoid. lol It's just strang to me that my 7 year old woke up one morning and switched it from Cartoon network...nickelodean...Ed,Edd,Eddy (which I find REDICULOUSLY annoying) to Hannah Montannah, etc. I guess it's better. Cartoon Network is so uneducational. Thanks for answering, keep it comin'!

Alrighty then! Thank you so much for you're input! Opened my narrow mind a little ;] I think I just want to lower the amount of these shows my eldest (7) watches. She literally walks in the door from school and turns the TV on...and that's it...she completely zones out. The 5 year old just follows in her sisters footsteps. She's funny to watch (like one of you mentioned), flipping her hair and what not. The shows I just think have matured them more so than just watching plain cartoons. But I'm definately cutting time!!

I closely monitor what our son watches on TV. I thought the same thing as you about about "Hannah Montannah" and "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody"...then I set down with him and watched them...they are so corny. No wonder the younger kids like them, they act sillier then their own age. I found nothing wrong with them accept some occasional bad acting.

I think there are better shows for children that age on the market. Instead of cartoon network try PBS.
Up side: no commercials, no misdressed girls and very educational.
A 7 and 5 year old shouldn't be in charge when to watch TV anyways.
Set a time limit (30minutes) a day and let them choose a show (age appropriate) there is plenty to read, play and imagine in this world.

Hannah Montana is fine
It is a good show, the the parent has brains
The children do not know everything, and parents know nothing. It's okay for seven, and a five
That's so Raven, I do not like, my child watches sometimes, I do not know it she old enough to understand about Raven seeing the future, that not happen in real life. I think the show is for older children
I now some parents have problem about the way Hannah dresses in the show, not Miley. I do not.
It's your child, you need to fine what is best for her
Good luck

My daughter LOVES those shows and she is not quite 6 yet. Yes the characters always learn very good lessons... So it is good for them.. The only thing I have noticed with my little girl is that she has started to mimick Hanna Montana and some of the other Girls on those shows. You know like prancing around and tossing her hair around... lol.. But I don't really see it as a problem and it is so cute. As long as she is mimicking the "good" girls than it is fine by me.. :o)

I let my 5 and 7 year old watch both of them. My 5 year old absolutely adores Hannah Montana. She sings and dances along with her.

It's perfectly fine for a 5 year old to watch. Neither of the shows say or use anything inappropriate.

granted my daughter is 11 tomorrow, and she admires hannah montana as well as raven. iam a freak mom, i monitor what my children watch, and, honestly i have found myself getting into these shows myself. I dont personally feel they are inappropriate, its more lessons in these two particular shows, educational. good for you to be concerned, there are so many stars that our children admire, and they are such an influence to our children, and not always in a good way.

i would much rather my child watch hannah montana, she use to be stuck on raven but then hanna montana came on and she gets mad when its over. she is 4 (5 in dec) and tells me to rewind it again.
i have bought her the hannah montana cd and she sings all the songs and dances...i think its cute and there are no negative things on the show, they show right from wrong!

They're fine to watch! They don't swear or anything and are only for entertainment purposes. Both of ur kids should be fine.... especially if they're girls... lol, my older sister still loves to watch both and she's 16!
