would we perhaps be a bit more kind and tolerant of one another without the anonymity of the internet. I think all of us should evaluate that.

I'd carry the orders & fetch chairs just to see it happen. Beautiful thought on a sunny day. Nice to see.
All the best.

Although maybe some people should be limited to half-caf. lol

Without the anonymity of the Internet, I fear that many would not be able to be as candid about their beliefs as they are here (the "intimidation factor.")

Without the anonymity, other irrelevant issues would cloud our objective listening ability. We would pre-judge the message based on our impressions of the messenger. Such things as age, accent, dress, etc. (Maybe the person with the most important message doesn't smell very good!)

Don't forget about how people rejected the message of "wild man" named John the Baptist because he dressed funny and had a peculiar diet!

Greet you in the same manner as Jesus (pbuh) greeted in Hebrew Luke 24:36
‘Sholam alay kum’
or Islamic greeting in Arabic Assalaamu alai kum
both meaning ‘Peace be on you’.

Well yeah we should discuss our beliefs...we should come to common terms..the terms which are same in every religion....we should forget what is different...well the first term which is same in all religion is that "GOD is One" , One and the same....if you read all scriptures of different religions.

"Say: 'O People of the Book (i.e., Jews and Christians)! Come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.' If then they turn back, say ye: 'Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will).' (The Noble Quran, 3:64)"

CHRISTIANITY:

"And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’

And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ "
[The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17]

JUDAISM:

Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adna Ikhad"

It is a Hebrew quotation which means:

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord"
[The Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]

ISLAM :

"Say: He is Allah,
The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him."
[Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]

HINDUISM:

"Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures."
[Bhagavad Gita 7:20]

The Gita states that people who are materialistic worship demigods i.e. ‘gods’ besides the True God.

"Ekam evadvitiyam"
"He is One only without a second."
[Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]

I use to be a radio operator. It is funny you mention this.
Several years ago we decided to get together in Ft Worth Texas for coffee. The guys who were always at each other on the radio disagreeing, weren't so bold in person. Pretty funny memory.

At 5 bucks a cup, I'll have mine alone, thank you. At least that way, I won't get heartburn from having to sit near some of these energy hogs! Since you are a Christian, then surely you can see (sense) the "evil" in some of these disgruntled users that love to attack others in print. I would NOT want to have contact with them, period.

Only if we don't go to Starbucks.... They are overpriced and not everyone likes the taste.

I would love to get together if I could do it without a lot of traveling (Gas prices are rough on the pocketbook these days)

Dear Lucid Freedom,

It's a nice thought!!! i guess it would depend on the individuals that you invite. Although i always thought that was the purpose of yahoo answers- to provide a public forum where people can learn and share. Props on the nice suggestion!

Kindly,

Nickster

Probably...

The anonimity of the internet gives some people a great deal more courage because they feel "untouchable."

I'd like to think that I wouldn't say anything on YA that I wouldn't say in person...but I could be wrong.

Yes, Starbucks is a great place to discuss things... and if we all get a Frappucino instead of the hot coffee it won't hurt so bad if one of us gets mad and pours it on the others. LOL

Amen to that. I think you should start a Starbucks group. Maybe even a McDonalds early morning group for those so inclined.
