Although both psychics and prophets have the ability to tell the future, a christian prophet is not the same as a christian psychic. Christian psychics are cultural or religious christians whose secular jobs are that of a psychic. Psychics are often paid for what they do. On the other hand, the role of a prophet within christianity (Charismatic/Pentecostal) is solely a religious role. A true prophet will never prophesy for money, it is like an abomination to do so, for prophecy in christianity is seen as an ability that comes only from the Holy Spirit and not from the person themselves. Also, the main job of a prophet is not just to tell people's futures. The main job of a christian prophet is 1) to be able to assess a christian's or a church's strengths and weaknesses as christians, helping them improve in their strengths and correcting their faults 2) to tell christians/churches what the spirit of Christ or God may plan to do in the future concerning the local and/or universal church, one's family ,one's nation, etc.
A true prophet prays often and is very christcentric. A prophet cannot just tap into the spirit world at will like psychics can. He/She will not go into the spirit realm unless the Holy Spirit allows them or directs them into doing so. In the old Bible days, Prophets served as God's spokemen to God's people.

Christianity has nothing to do with this. The bible records both psychics and prophets.

A psychic can see beyond the physical. Metaphysics. We know there are psychics, but we don't why they have this ability.

In the Judeo Christian tradition, a prophet always speaks the truth, usually God's truth. They may see the future, but they usually has no psychic ability. Their source is God.

There's no such thing as a Christian Psychic. A psychic tells the future or meaning of details like where is my missing sister, or will i get married in the future. Prophets tell what God has told them to say, whether it be about the present or usually the future. It could be about anything, but God told them to say it. Psychics aren't reporting important details that God wants to be told

Dear badpesta,

There is no such thing as a "Christian psychic". It's an oxymoron. What psychics do (telling the future, palm reading, etc.) is considered witchcraft which the Bible prohibits.

A prophet in the Bible was a person who brought a message from God. A lot of the times in the Old Testament it was people who brought a message of repentance and warning from people to turn away from evil ways and to turn to God (ie: Jeremiah, Isaiah, Jonah, ...)

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

A Christian Psychic is forecasting the future and violating the concept of free will. A Christian Prophet is a messager of God and is telling of the future of religion.

No such thing as a Christian Psychic. That is a oxymoron.

Christian Prophet nowadays is merely a preacher/teacher of the Word.

there is no such thing as a christian psychic. there are gifts of the spirit which God gives as well as positions in the body of Christ. some of the gifts of the spirit include , "word of knowlege" which is a foreknowledge of a situation or an event...which some would consider "psychic"....but it is different.
a prophet has the gift to receive a word of knowledge as well as revelation....
"psychic" refers more to those who can tell certain things about the future, but the knowledge they receive about the future is not from the Spirit of God, which makes it wrong.

there are no christian psychics, that would mean that they could tell the future without gods help... aka witch-craft... not allowed in the christian religion.. if it was with the help of god then that persom would be a prophet, but there isn't supposed to be any more prophets... so niether exist
