When I am dreaming, I never realize I am dreaming. But if I spend about 15-30 minutes to before bed thinking about nothing but that certain subject, I usually do dream about whatever I have been thinking. But you would have to concentrate on the one thing and not watch TV or read, just think about it. That is why if there is something bad going on in my life, I think about it early in the day, and try to only think about happier things right before bed.

lucid dreaming is SO cool. you really should try it. it requires meditating on (whatever) subject before you go to bed. then while you are in the dream, you sort of 'step outside' the reality of the dream and tell the dream which direction you want it to go or not go. i made myself stop having the twice-yearly back-in-high-school dream. (i never actually graduated, even tho i went on to graduate from a top college later). the dream kept coming back like a dog to its own sick, and i WAS so sick of it that i actually said in the dream, while at the high school "i am 39 years old, it's time to stop having this ridiculous dream!" it's been 4 years now since i dreamt it. give it a try.

It's cool when you realize you're dreaming. Sometimes this happens when I'm falling in my dream, I realize I'm only dreaming so after the big "thud" when I hit the ground I get to control my dream after that. I've also realized I was dreaming when I wasn't falling.

To some extent, yes.Dreams have a role to play in our mental health and development and it's better to leave the process unhindered. Why not have all the fun in real life than through dreams?

I'm not entirely sure if it works.. but you should look for information and books on "Lucid Dreaming". There are supposedly methods and training techniques that one can learn to help control their dreams.. or their actions within dreams at least.
