It is something that helps develop a worldview and in many ways yes it is.
It is anti-God and helps mankind to focus on himself rather than on Him. The devil is shrewd and very clever to devise this theory.

Dear ddvanway,
i think if one was to consider evolution a religion than they would also have to consider creation a religion. i think both evolution and creation bring up a point that is important to religion which is: where did man come from?
That being said the topics in themselves are not religions. Nobody worships: evolution or creation. Unless they worship: Charles Darwin.
So there is a relation between religion and evolution and creation. But in and of themselves both evolution and creation give explanaitons as to the Origin of Life- which is a very key component of religion- but is not the entirety of religion.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

No, a religion is a belief in a supernatural or supreme being God etc. Evolution is a belief in the naturalism.

Evolution is no more a religion, than believing in the Theory of Gravity is a religion.
It is a specific branch of science. Nothing more, nothing less.

No. Evolution is a scientific model. Just like Quantum Mechanics and Special and General Relativity.
Granted, some people try to go too far with Evolution and use it to conclude that there "is no god" or that "life is an accident". But philosophical questions like that are outside of the scope of the model.

Evolution is a scientific theory, as well as a scientific fact. It says nothing for or against spirituality, or God. The reason why we get angry that people try to misrepresent it is because these people are spreading ignorance to support their beliefs.
Misrepresenting science as religion, as well as misrepresenting the facts to make it seem like there's some scientific "controversy" over evolution, is dishonest, and is harmful to our youth, who rely on us for knowledge.
Should people be able to distort science and facts any time they appear inconvenient?

No I believe evolution is a theory that atheists use as a means to "prove" Christians wrong. You cannot use evolution to do this because it is only a THEORY. Yes a theory. Not a scientific LAW.

It's really funny.... christians are just like kids who play dungeons & dragons... they hear some made-up rules for a made-up game, and then wrap their whole lives around these fantasies.
How they can possibly question science, based on fairy tales... it's beyond me.
Once more, for the short bus...... Science looks for errors, so they can CHANGE their beliefs.... Christians look to change the facts, to fit their beliefs....

Look up the word "religion."
Nobody who owns a dictionary could suggest that evolution is a religion without revealing him- or herself as cognitively impaired.

Of course not. Evolution is science. Only self-centered atheists and narrow minded fundies think it is.
