Keep in mind Pizza Delivery people work based on tips. I tip 5 dollars if the pizza is crappy, 6 if its average, 7 if its really really good.
What do you guys tip?

i take advantage of the 20% rule and alter it for transport costs and repair. case in point, if the foodstuff cost is $30, 15% is $6.00. If there's a $3.00 transport cost, I subtract that from the tip quantity, and base the tip on $3.00 If the transport is prompt and the transport man or woman is expert, i will around the tip up, and probably even toss in yet another dollar. If the transport is sluggish, or the transport man or woman has an physique of innovations, then i will around down. each and every so often the transport cost is all they get. I understand that foodstuff transport human beings make maximum of their income assistance. in the event that they do a good activity, they gets a tip from me. in the event that they don't, they won't. A tip isn't a acceptable, it must be earned

I tip 10% of the total bill, which is usually about $4-$5 for a couple of large pizzas.
I don't know if the pizza is going to be crappy, average, or really, really good until AFTER the delivery man drives away, so I tip on speed of delivery and courtesy rather than the quality of the pie.

That depends. Was my pizza delivered in a timely manner? Was the delivery person polite while at my door? Did he/she remember to bring the soda's I ordered (about 1/3 of the time they forget them or bring the wrong ones)? Is my pizza hot?
These things combine to determine whether the delivery person gets a tip or not. I know that they depend on tips just like a waiter/waitress does, however, just like a waiter/waitress I do not feel compelled to reward bad service with a tip.

depends where the pizza is from (how far the drive).... how speedy they are.. how much the order is... how nice they are....
i usually pick up my own.. but since i live right in town.. its like 5 min to almsot any pizza place and i usually get like no more than about 15 worth of stuff so usually about 3 bucks with an order like that.
you could jsut stick to the 15% rule like at restaurants

Usually whatever i order is 13-14, so i just give him a 20 and tell him to keep it. It's a job, they get a normal wage but I'm not going to give him 15 bucks tip for doing his job. A tip is a privilege, not a right.

WOW. The most I ever give is $1.50. I usually just round it up to the nearest dollar and maybe add some odd change I want to get rid of. We already pay $2.50 for the delivery and I figure that is enough for driving a half mile.
No pizza place I know do the drivers work just for tips - they all get minimum wage at least.

20%, give or take. Depends on the attitude when I call, if they find the place or complain that the orderer gave the wrong address, etc.
But usually its 20%.
