I don't know what's going on with me, I am a self proclaimed hetrosexual and am extremely into guys, but awhile back and lately again im having some homosexual feelings, I feel so guilty and it is never something I want to return back to... see the deal is I started thinking these really gross thoughts about a particuluar women, but im starting to think it is because she is a great example to me, and I deeply respect her but I have emotional reasons I dont know how to express it right?
Other than that I havent really experienced to much just like looking around and comparing my boob size to others, and realizing how beautiful women are but not feeling sexually attracted really, I guess I should be praying to God for help not asking strangers for help, but feel free to give me advice!!!
Oh by the way I'm a christian so I will never and have no desire to be a homosexual!!!

It isn't sinful to have homosexual feelings. It is to act on them. I would imagine many people have an occational homosexual thought but, in my OPINION, I think those are one of two things: (1) temptation from Satan to try and get us to feel bad about ourselves and feel confused (if he wanted to tempt a person to be homosexual, he usually does it though more covert means) or, (2) A simple result of having a mortal body, a natural reaction to certain stimuli which we have to learn to overcome and control.

Just keep searching for truth (never give up!) with an open mind. Follow what you find and you'll be just fine.

some people believe people are born gay. Some believe it is a lifestyle or something someone chooses to be gay. I used to think all people chose to be gay. But i have seen little kids and you can just tell they are gay. So now I am not so sure. The typically guy response would not do you any good here LOL. Women can look at other women and say they are pretty, have a hot body and so on without being gay. Some people may say those are homosexual feelings but I think it is perfectly fine. You might be bisexual. You can be gay or bisexual without ever really have sex with the same sex. The best thing you can do is be true to yourself. Praying can help as well but lets be honest.........unless God actually tells you what the right answer is in this situation you are basically going to come up with your own solutions based on your beliefs and morals. Don't let it bother you too much......life is hard enough............There once was a time when "GAY" meant happy. What ever happened to those days?

The thoughts you are thinking come from a deep set curiosity about ALL things, not just women, men, sexuality, or anything else. Guilt is synonymous with stress in the Christian's dictionary. Emotional connections don't have to be relayed through physical attraction or physical actions.

In this society though, it is hard to determine what one should do. The focus is ON physical beauty, physical pleasure, and physical responses. Don't feel guilty of your thoughts. Your thoughts remain just thoughts until you act upon them. if you DO act upon them, you must approach the action with an open mind. weigh the positive and negative aspects of it and determine the best course.

You aren't homosexual unless you swear off the opposite sex in favor of the same sex... Curiosity and experimentation does not make one Homosexual.

Hey Julie,

i will definitely pray for you and i hope that you can be as honest with God as you can with the people here on yahoo answers! This might be something you can share with a sister in Christ (not the one that you are attracted to) and pray together and share a little bit more openly.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

To compare yourself to other women and to admire their beauty (inner and outer) is normal. All women do it, some of them refuse to admit it. You are not acting like a lesbian. You can be emotionally close to a women, and not want to get in her pants. You are making a big deal out of nothing. Stop worrying, you are normal.

I'm a christian also, and this is a temptation, so don't give in! If you're confused just stick to who you are and don't let these types of thoughts get to you. Yah, i agree you should ask for help and strength from God. And hope you're able to overcome this stage. I'm sure everything's going to be fine :)

That's funny. As if your belief system - purely an artifact of your thought process - defined your sexuality. Good luck.

Edit: To answer your original question - nothing is wrong with you except that you think you can or can't be something because of your belief system and, no doubt, what somebody has told you that entails.

Simple:

There is no such thing as sexuality. It is a societal construct. It only exists inside your head. You are a sexual creature and therefore can occasionally find those who are attractive to you regardless of "gender."

You don't choose to be gay. Sometimes people are just made that way. There's nothing wrong with it. If you have feelings for another woman, explore them, don't suppress them. I'm not saying you have to act on them, but don't pretend they don't exist.

What you are feeling may not be the norm, but it is normal.

Dear Julie,

It is perfectly normal to have sexual thoughts about other people (same sex or opposite sex). Most people (both heterosexual and homosexual) do indeed have these sexual thoughts with both sexes.

Nothing is wrong with you.

Regards,

CC
