Dear nerris121,
My suggestion is to learn about Satan from the Bible. Or you can go to a Christian bookstore and by a Systematic Theology and you can find a whole chapter on Satan and demons which will teach you that from a very Biblical perspective.
i think otherwise you are opening a very dangerous door and the Bible also warns us that pride goes before destruction ("i am strong in my Catholic beliefs and always will be.") You ought to be strong enough in your beliefs to know that Satan is real- and is a powerful foe that only Jesus can defeat. You are opening yourself up to all kinds of dangers...
The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Kindly,
Nickster

Satan has a lot of false churches out there leading the people
the wrong way. You do know, that you can't join God's true church, When the people worship in the false, they think they're worshiping God, but they are really worship demons.
They're teaching, that you are going to heaven, when the bible does not say any body is going to heaven, In fact in Revelations 21, it tell you about God the Father bringing His Kingdom down to a new earth, to the holy Jerusalem, where he will be with His people for ever. This is the mansion, Jesus spoke of. "In my Fathers house there are many mansions, and I go to prepare a place for you"
You have to be called by God the father ,to the true church of God
There is a spirit world where satan is now, we are to stay away from that p;lace. You can not serve two masters, for you will love the one and hate the other, If you want to know about satan, read your bible, it tells you every thing. Isaiah 14.

Here's the way I see it:
To defeat an enemy you need to understand the enemy. Learn, therefore, what Satan's doctrines are and what he does and why he does it. Do this carefully, though. To research fire, you've got to do it carefully. Don't be careless, I was when I tried to do such. You can get into dangerous situations quickly and suddenly (both spiritually and physically).
Look for truth with an open mind.
An analogy I just thought of (I don't know how acurate it may be yet): some people who fight child porn on the front lines fall to it's darkness. They rotate people in and out of these programs often. If you stare into darkness long enough, you'll fall into it. Stand in the light and research the darkness just as you'd research the good parts of truth.
Make sure you're doing it for the right reasons, make it a matter of prayer, and be careful. Trust me on this. Don't stare at the darkness too much, even if you are trying to see what's there. There are some things you can't see without venturing into it and, as a final warning:
" 20 For behold, at that day shall he rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good.
21 And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well--and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.
22 And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none--and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance."
Search for truth and understanding but do it properly.

Apparently not. The Pontifical University in Rome even has classes on Satanism--including not only exorcism and classical demonology, but also modern forms of Satanism like Anton Szandor LaVey's Church of Satan.

You know, somebody with an open mind and willing to actually take the time to learn about something is precisely what the CoS is looking for in individuals. You should do some research and see what you learn, a lot of it is just silly pseudo-religious nonsense, but some of it is rather interesting. Good luck!

Depend on "which" church of satan you want. There is the one in Amsterdam and the one created by LeVey. As one who "used to be" a satanist, the church is like any RELIGION. If christians believe in something, the church goes in the opposite direction of belief. SATANISM, "true" satanism "isn't" a CHURCH. It is a FAITH in the one Lord of Darkness. In HATE is no love only SACRIFICE. "Your" sacrifices to your Lord. Every REWARD has a "price."
Pretty BORING isn't it. I found it so. After so many years you begin to see all you are to this Lord is a SLAVE to it's vain nature.........

The church of Satan does not actually worship Satan. You won't learn anything about the Christian concept of Satan from them. The online Catholic encyclopedia, newadvent.org could help you out though.

Where ye sow, there shall ye reap. The teaching of the Church is all we need to know about Satan and his ways.

You should actually learn about the church of satan because it's most likely NOT what you think it is...it's not a bunch of devil worshipers with dyed hair and peircings that cut up goats and drink their blood and stuff like that....

I do not recommend attending the church of satan even just for curiosity sake. What do you expect to experience once you set foot in the church of satan? Everything that is evil, bad and contrary to the teachings of God.
