The correct answer to your question is: No.
I know that to be very true.
It doesn't matter how he lived his life, he had not gone to the real heaven.
It does depend on how he lived his life and what he prayed for before he died. Those things would have made a difference as to rather he inherited the earth or better material things.
It's not yet time for any of the people to go to heaven. All shall remain till God's son lift up those who are to be lifted up.
Throughout the centuries, the people have been waiting for God's son to return and lift up those who are to be lifted up. Notice that I mentioned the people are waiting for God's son to lift them up. God's son has already returned to the earth. So the waiting for his return is no longer the issue. He's on the earth living among the people. Now it's just a matter of time till it's time for him to make the preparations to do the lifting.
As to your question. He had not perished, so he does still exist. Like the others who had died, he's waiting to learn who's being lifted and when.
I know for a fact that he didn't. I'm not guessing.

Please read all before getting upset:
The answer is No, he did not.
We will assume he was a rightous man.
But he still did not "go to Heaven"
If he was a rightous man, he is asleep and at rest until Jesus call us from our grave, then we will wake up arise and be given a new spiritual body and will spend eternity with Christ.
NO ONE, can be saved after death, when this life is over, what ever was your choice, dictates what will happen to you after death.
If this were not true then why bother living a rightous life here? Go out and party and kill and rape and drink and curse!
Just make sure someone is baptised for you after you die.

No-one can say for certain who goes to heaven and who does not. But, if your dad did his best to live within God's plan, then Jesus was waiting for him to come home to heaven. Which doesn't mean he had to be perfect. No-one is.

" 11 Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection--Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life.
12 And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow."

I sure hope so. I have often wondered that about my own Dad. He died forty years ago.

DON'T DON'T DON'T ever go to that Mormon Sight it is a cult .The Bible says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and if your dad had ever accepted Jesus as savior then he would be there now.

No, he is wherever you last left him, most likely in a coffin in the ground. The resurrection does not occur until the end time.

If you are born again then he would most likely be in heaven. If you are saved you and your household will be saved.

Hang on, I'll call God. What was his name?
C'mon: no one knows that. Did your Dad curse God as he died?
