If they are happy in a relationship and totally in love why do they still stray.
Does there have to be problems for them to stray?

Many men that cheat actually do love their wives. They tend tio separate love from sex. A real man that deserves to be loved, however, will have a strong moral character, willpower, and respect enough for his wife not to stray. He would never want to see her in pain.
Generally, sometime that bothered them at home will be the excuse that they use for letting themselves do it.

It's possible. For example, maybe a person is completely in love with someone romantically, but they don't think there's enough sex in the relationship. Some people also like the thrill of having a 'secret' relationship, even when they're satisfied with their current arrangement. Other people may be genuinely in love with both, and aren't sure which one to stay with. The problem could just be the guy wanting some more excitement in his life or being indecisive. I think cheating is still pretty rare in happy relationships though.

No. Being totally in love is all consuming. You have no outside interests beyond the person you're in love with.
I think a man (or woman) could be in a comfortable, long term loving relationship, in which the "excitement" has dwindled, and may find himself straying because he's looking for that emotional "high" that comes from falling in love,

some of us men and women have been raised in not so well valued surroundings and grow up not truly realizing that the life around them is not of morals and values so its not that they are not totally in love sometimes its something deep rooted from there up bringing that has them not understanding.

i think its true..i was with my ex boyfriend like 4 yrs,it was a messed up relation ship.but he cheated on me..and i was so mad i cheated on him back.! I was so in love with him tho, 4real truely in love.. but when i cheated on him the whole time i was with the other man i just wished it was him. but i still did it,and had control over my actions and new what i was doing..

To me "love" is more than a feeling, it's an action.
If someone cheats on you then they are not respecting you or the relationship....and that's not love.

yes they can it does not mean there not in love they think with the wrong head somtimes and when the mood arises whatever or whoever is there is going to be there prey but it does not mean there not truly in love

i'd say never... even if men say it was a mistake and they didn't mean it, don't believe it... they say it was a mistake as if they had no control over the issue... as much as it hurts, anyone who cheats does NOT love you.... try to move on... sry..
