i have ms and was recently declared disabled and granted dissability but the place i worked for since i no longer have a check coming from them for them to deduct insurance from they droped me since i cant get medicare for 2 years i was forced to get insurance through my wifes work wich is very expensive and takes up about half her check a week. the deductible is high and the co pay is too and with all the dr visits, home health care,tests,expensive medications we have doctors offices and collection agencies calling non stop and with 3 kids and a limited income theres no way i can pay dr bills im canceling appointments and not getting the medicines im perscribed cause we have to pay mortgage,utilites, and other bills. all the assistance ive applied for has turn me down cause i have insurance even though its not really helping cause i cant pay copay,deductiple or the 20% after deductible so if any one knows of any assistance for people with insurance please let me know

some of the drug companies have programs to help, be sure you give them an accurate description of your income and medical expenses plus the number of family members, the nurses at your doctors office usually have these forms if not try contacting the companies them self you can usually find this info online. i know around here catholic social services, united way help and you may be able to find a list on the national ms foundation site. good luck

This is going to sound ghoulish, but ...
if you have a life insurance policy, check to see if it allows for "accelerated death benefits."

This evolved as a big deal during the 1980s, as a response to the hundreds of thousands of AIDS patients needing expensive end-of-life care.

What it basically does is pay out a big chunk of your life insurance benefit now, and let you use the money for your current medical bills.

Also -- you may be able to get better health insurance by exploring your state's "high-risk insurance pool."
