The items you describe are not lenses, but instead appear to be filters for black and white photography. They will change the intensity of various shades of grey in black and white photography. The polarizer filter is used to reduce reflections off things like water and glass.

From your description, these may be older filters, so it's possible the polarizer wouldn't work with newer cameras that require circular polarizer filters for glare reduction instead of older linear polarizers.

Red filters are good in black and white, particularly infrared photography.

They are not lenses, they're filters. Filters attach to the front of a cameras' lens. They're used to modify the light entering the lens. Normally the color of a filter will lighten a subject of the same color and darken a subject of its opposite color. Polarisers are used to control or eliminate non-metallic reflections in a scene. Polarisers are great for scenics because they eliminate the haze in the atmostphere. Haze is simply the sun reflecting on the water molecules in the air.

Red and yellow are for black and white, polariser is for "the sunglasses" effect to put it in easy terms

Blue is used to colour correct the tungsten colour cast (makes yellow light , white light)

a

Well you now know you have a set of filters.

The main use of the polarizer is to make the sky a darker blue so white puffy clouds really "pop" or just for the visual effect. It also removes glare/reflections from water, glass, sand, snow, and painted metal - but not from polished metal.

They are filters. Filters are used to eliminate certain effects or to create certain effects. It is all about practice try shooting a few scenes with and without the filters and see what results you get, photographing througth a red filter will enhance sunsets, lemons make greens and daffodils look better etc. Just go do it, after a bit of practice you will be able to work it out for yourself so have fun.
