How was their service and roughly how much? They don't give quotes online. I need to remove two sofas this weekend.

my friends suck and don't want to help. I don't feel comfortable having a stranger from craigslist coming to my apartment. If all else fails I will just take them apaprt and throw away in the dumpster.

I don't remember how much they cost - but it's a LOT!!

It's just cheaper to pay a couple of friends to do the work for you, and just haul the couches out to the street - or the dump.

If none of them has a van/truck, you could easily rent one for about $20 (+ mileage).

Just promise them a case of beer at the end - and you'll save a FORTUNE ;);););)

I used them a few weeks ago to get rid of a sofa, love seat, and ottoman. It was fairly expensive - almost $200. But their service was excellent. They got here in the scheduled time, and called me several times to say they were on their way. Also they were very polite, spoke English, etc.

Also, if you book online, I believe they give you $10 off.

EDIT: By the way, Salvation Army and Goodwill will not pick up an old sofa that needs reupholstery (my cats did a number on mine). I called 1800GotJunk because I just wanted to get rid of everything with no hassle, no guys complaining or not showing up because they decided to get drunk instead, etc. I needed new furniture but I had to get rid of the old stuff first.

Did you try to get rid of the sofas on freecycle.org or craigslist?
