Why punish Michael Vick and do nothing to the owners of Tyson Foods or Foster Farms?

Eat your pig, eat your chicken, eat your fish, eat your cow, eat your cat, eat your dog...yum, yum, yum.

I for one love barbecued dog. If you have never eaten barbecued Labradors, you are missing out. I had to go to Taiwan for that.

I think that Michael Vic's dogs should be roasted or barbecued and they should hold a big party. By the way, what is wrong with what Michael Vick did? It seems extremely hypocritical to charge him but let everyone in our food industry go free.

His dogs were treated no worse than the gazillion animals in America that are grown for food. What's the difference? And don't tell me that the difference is that his actions were illegal while the actions of the food industry are legal. We all know that. The question is an ethical one, not a legal one.

I love the taste of flesh. Especially veal. It is very delicious. I am a fan of the scientific process by which farmers discovered how to make veal so flavorful with such a perfect consistency.

Oh. I am getting hungry just thinking about the wonderful flavor of cow. I notice that ever since the FDA banned ruminant feeding that cow tastes different. Not as good.

Oh, and pork. What would we have for dinner if not for the delicious pig? He toils all day in filth to make himself tender and juicy. I think the farmers who coop pigs up to keep the nasty, hard to chew, muscles from growing were ingenious.

But, back to dogs...I regret never having tasted a pit bull...although I would imagine the meat is not very tender. It is probably hard to chew and not very palatable. Still, meat is meat. I see little difference between eating dogs, cats, or other animals. Humans are animals too, but I think it would be distasteful to eat someone whose DNA is so like ours.

Chickens there are kicked for fun. About 1/2 of all chickens have broken limbs from being stuck in small cages and thrown around. And most the time the saw thats supposed to cut the chickens throat doesn't work because the chickens can move. And they get scalded alive. If that isn't cruelty I don't know what is.

And don't say our food is not made from abused animals, I'm sure all of you would be VERY surprised by what is done at those slaughterhouses.

(What I find more amazing is that "Shut the **** up you dumb sack of ****" got more up votes than me =) ) Must have alot of devoted murderers in here heh.) I don't think everyone got what he was trying to say... From how I read it he wasn't saying hey lets all go out and eat a dog he was saying other animals get treated that way too, not just his dogs. He should go to jail he is a horrible person and deserves to be in jail. And I think the Original Poster would agree with me there. He was just using vick as an example on why not go after the bigger companies that abuse their animals as well? Sarcasm doesn't come out well in text for the incompetent =P

You know,there is cruelty everywhere.You ask this queston jokingly,as if it were funny,although I know that you're just trying to make people think like Ingrid Newkirk,that a boy is a pig is a rat is a dog,that every creature is equal.This may be true in some circumstances,but if you had the choice to kill a child or a pig,which would you choose,seriously? You know that most sane people would choose to kill the pig and spare the child.What Michael Vick did was wrong,and others who abuse animals are wrong as well.As for the food animals,they aren't treated very well,but until people protest about it en masse,there isn't much to be done about it and there have been improvements.It's the same with the abuse of pets.They are starved,left to languish on the ends of chains,beaten,abandoned,used as breeding machines to make an easy buck.Wild animals are tortured for their fur and for their heads,to hang on a wall.Animals are tortured and that's a fact,and people are tortured,too.Look at the millions killed in wars.Look at the genocide in Darfur.Look at the Holocaust,Sept.11th....Then there's abortion.That's the taking of a human infant's life,but it's perfectly legal and a lot of people think that's fine and the doctors aren't prosecuted.It goes on and on.Cruelty exsists and we must do all we can to stop it,and for Michael Vick to get what's coming to him is but a small start,but it is a start.

The dogs die slowly.
Now there is people in the USA eating dogs and cats. They just no do it in front of you.
Plus the reason not to eat dogs or cats. Is what we feed them. If we feed them good enough to eat. The price of meat is going to be way higher then the meat that is feed them. You would have to feed people quilty meat. Not the meat that they can not feed people. Get it the meat that is not good is what is feed your pet.
Plus when you kill a animals for meat. You want it to be fast and clean. The bigger the animal. The faster and calmer you want it to be. They can hurt you. They are animals.
And veg head. The farmer does not get the animals out of the way of the plows. These plows can cut though a humans flesh. Like cutting though butter. And they do not make sure the animal is killed right away. They can that days to die. Or be hurt just enough they can not hunt for food. And die real slow. So you are killing just as many animals or more eating veg.
So veg head you are just like he is but just do not know it. Now you know it. So get of my case. Because no matter what you say. I am going to eat a balance meal and be heathy. If you do not want to eat a balance meal and not be heathy. That is your chose. I will not try to force you to eat a balance meal. So do not try to get me too. Because I am not dumb enough too become a veg head.

I think both of it is wrong. If chickens, pigs cows etc. are going to be raised as food then they should at least have a decent life until there killed.

What Vick did was just wrong and unforgivable.

Instead of us arguing in here about what type of animal cruelty is wrong (which all of it is) we should come together and put an end to it.
We are the only ones who can speak for these innocent animals.

And PETA should have blood thrown on them. they think the Pit Bull breed should end completely. What a bunch of hypocrites

Good point. I have heard of chicken mistreated for KFC, and I wrote them a complaint letter. As of now, I still don't eat there, so I have done my part. But most americans dont eat dogs. so I guess its different. I think i have the right to be mad at Vick, b/c i have done my part. its inhumane, and wrong. if u treat innocent dogs like this, how do u behave when someone tried to harm you? sure, ull prolly say well dogs aren't human, which they aren't, but it is unnecessary to go that far with anything. . i def. think thats the reason alot of ppl are mad. and loads of ppl love their dogs, and its a barbaric thing to do. ho often do u hear of the Purdue man getting caught hanging, electr. or beating a chickens head in the cement? 1. Michael Vick inhumanely killed dogs. He tortured them, hung them, and electrocuted them. How can you believe that he shouldn't go to prison?

2. Move to Taiwan if you like to eat dogs so much.

3. The animals that are bred for food ARE NOT treated well! They are abuse, beaten, burned, electrocuted, etc. ALIVE! I'm a vegan and I'm not trying to push my beliefs on anyone, but people that believe that cows, pigs, chickens or any animal should be treated like that should consider watching some PETA videos.

The reason is because chickens, pigs and cows have been raised for food in the U.S. Not dogs or cats. That's why. That is the way it is in the U.S. for now. It will change though..

Michael Vick didn't even bother to eat the dogs he killed or even donate the meat to the starving people in "Taiwan" who eat them. Dude, chill out. Save your crusade for causes that more than 2% of the population give a damn about. As for the answer to your question, I agree with those who've stated that animals killed in a slaughter house are done in a controlled environment and are killed as humanely as possible, that is, without pain or suffering. Vick on the other other hand, tortured dogs by electrocuting, hanging and drowning them. It would be one thing if he just shot them all in the head but he didn't it. There was nothing humane about how he killed those animals. And that's what it's all about. It's not about dogs! It's about killing animals and how one goes about doing it.

Livestock chicken,hogs, & cattle are raised for consumption. They are killed humanely, have you ever been to a slaughter house ? I have, my family raised Angus cattle for years . A good butcher will instantly kill a cow with a single bullet. As far as fighting dogs thats a big difference. It's cruel & if the dogs don't die in the fight , they often die because of serious wounds & infections. You need your head examined,if you don't understand the difference.

Either you never went to Taiwan and ate dog meat or, you are a hypocrite. You are either a vegetarian that doesn't believe in eating meat no matter what country you are in or you have only posted to stir up a controversy.
