After you are saved God gives you grace and power not to sin:
1. We have the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life and not sin:
Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who received the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
2..We who have died to sin should no longer live in it
Romans 6:1,2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3. Our old man was crucified with Christ that we should no longer be slave to sin
Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin may be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.
4. Sin has no dominion over us as we are not under the law but under grace
Romans 6:14 sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under the law, but under grace
5.We walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh ie sin
Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
6. We who are in Christ are always in the light because Jesus Christ is the light of the world. As we are in the light we are continually washed by the blood every time we sin so that we are always kept righteous in Christ:
John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sins.
7. Our righteousness is not determined by our conduct but by what Jesus did on the cross. So we are always righteous in Christ even though we may sin and are always saints:
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Hebrews 10:17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
8. When we love fervently we will not sin:
1 Pet 4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’

The soul is saved but the body is depraved. When I physically die, my body will be laid to rest in six feet of dirt but my soul will be long gone. As long as this body of flesh lives here on this earth, I will be tempted. Although I don't want to do what is wrong, I am in a war. Sometimes I stumble out of the trickery of the Devil. Sometimes my flesh deceives me. Sometimes the world looks attractive and if I am too tired or had a bad day, I might say something or do something that is not a common practice for me. God knows we can't be perfect. I am a sinner. I am glad to have been saved on the night I accepted Jesus as my savior. I am in the process of being saved as I live from day to day on this earth. I will eventually be saved from being cast into Hell because of the payment for my sins through the blood of Jesus, freely given. There is never a day that "I" am good. God is good! Still I am at peace no matter what the circumstances are. I am His child and He loves me eternally!

Research shows that the reason humans struggle with emotion to find equitable solutions is pinpointed the region of the brain called the insular cortex, or insula, which is also the seat of emotional reactions. The fact that the brain has such a robust response to unfairness shows that sensing unfairness is a basic evolved capacity. The emotional response to unfairness pushes people from extreme inequity and drives them to be fair. This observation shows our basic impulse to be fair isn't a complicated thing that we learn. It therefore fully illustrates that all humans have morals controlled by the brain and that Christians are entirely wrong to try and claim morals as their own!!!! But Christians found a way round it! Government statistics show that christians are vastly over represented in prisons for sexual, violent and fraudulent crime! The Catholic church is paying millions in compensation for the sex/pedophile crimes of their priests alone! Christians are vastly over represented in the divorce courts! Christians invented the concept of sin and then the idea that you could sin, ask forgiveness, get pardoned and start with a clean sheet! So no surprise that they are so expert at it is it?! A Christian is a man that feels repentance on Sunday for what he did on Saturday and is going to do on Monday. - Thomas Russell Ybarra

We are freed FROM sin, anyone who sins is a slave to that sin, and there is a price to pay for sin, it is death. We are still however sinners, but we will not walk in the practices of sin, especially those that God has given us conviction of. Let me explain a little bit. I might still have a time with gossiping or judging, even though I try to restrain from those things, but the sins I have conviction over I will not do again, like my sexual immoral behavior I use to live by. We are a work in progress. In no way are we free TO sin...like knowing better and still doing it, this is not true repentance, true repentance is "changing our minds"

Don,
First let me define some words
repent : to repent means to turn around and go the other way.
sin : sin means to miss the mark, in other words, God has a rule, if in your life you "missed the mark" and broke the rule, you have sinned.
If you have recognized sin in your life, you are sorry for the sin, you repent of the sin. At this point you should talk to God in prayer, naming every sin that you are repenting of, and asking for Jesus to come into your heart, cleansing you from all sin. Ask Him to fill you with his Holy Spirit. The bible says that God is faithful and just to forgive you of your sin when you repent. It says that not only will he forgive you but will forget the sin.
Jesus Christ died on the cross to take the required punishment for every sin that ever was or ever will be committed. He could do that because he never sinned.
If you have accepted the free gift of salvation, which Jesus paid for with his life, you are saved from your sin, and you have been given the gift of eternal life. Your name has been written in the lambs book of life. If you confess (say out loud, in sincerity, to others) that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, God will confess that you belong to Him, and you will have a home in heaven for eternity.
God HAS NOT SAVED YOU SO THAT YOU CAN CONTINUE TO LIVE IN SIN.
Since you are human, you will sin again. When you sin, you must again be sorry for that sin, repent of it, confess that sin to Jesus, asking him to strengthen you and to "give you the desires of your heart". This may sound as if you are asking to receive everything you want, but no, it means that you are asking for Him to help you want the things, that He wants for you.
God be with you in your search ><>♥<><

God did not save you for the purpose of allowing you to continue in sin and simply have fire insurance. No. For those who put their faith in Christ, God saves them from the punishment of sin. So, basically, you would be a saint who still sins while you live on this earth. However, because you are under grace and no longer under God's condemnation, shouldn't you all the more want to please God by being holy as Christ is holy instead of taking advantage of His grace and testing His mercy.

Jesus Christ, God's One & Only Beloved Son came to Earth veiled in flesh because humanity was separted from life by our sinful natures. There was a price that HAD to be paid for this sin...DEATH! Jesus, because He LOVES us SO much...PAID that price in FULL, for ALL our sins. Past present & future. IF you have been "saved" then you have become a New Creation in Christ, & sinning should be as far from your thoughts & actions as the East is from the West.

I like the way you think. It shows conviction.
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6 (King James Version)
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
