Salvation. I would rather be right with God (saved) and stupid, than be the wisest person in all the world and yet carry the stain of my sin.

That being said, I would also argue that while there is a difference between the two terms (as you noted), each compliments the other. Learning the wisdom of God can lead you to salvation, and conversely, salvation will bring you nearer to the source of all wisdom.

In Christ,
Christine

Salvation. If one believes in an afterlife, and the immortality of the soul, then this should be most important, since, well, it concerns forever!

Enlightenment is something we can try to achieve even in this life, a little at a time.

Salvation is more important to me. Howesoever enlightened one may be, God holds the ultimate key with Him. Whatever ur qualification, experience etc. in life, success is possible only with His Grace, so why work for enlightenment when the Almighty keeps the key with Him. I don't want to tire myself in process of enlightenment and want Divine Grace for a meaningful life. I want to spread the message that everything is possible with God only so simply surrender ur ego and everything will follow.

I'm going to say they are the same. Why attempt to limit one, by saying they aren't the same, perhaps another maybe in a position to know that they are aspects of the same facade.

Enlightenment is salvation imo. But then again I am a Gnostic and Gnostics believe salvation is through knowledge/knowing, to me the greater extent of enlightenment is fulfilled in the words "Know thy self." This to a Gnostic is salvation. The saving is from your state of deprivation with respect to ignorance and inner disharmony/division.

3. Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you.

When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."

70. Jesus said, "If you bring forth what is within you, what you have will save you. If you do not have that within you, what you do not have within you [will] kill you."

So it depends on what extent you are wiling to define Enlightenment in this sense. I look at the holistic enlightenment, the Enlightenment that is the end of suffering, this suffering is manifest by ignorance and division (as refinement is required).

Salvation or Liberation is more important to me than Enlightenment. Salvation puts an end to all grief.

the path to salvation is through enlightenment.

enlightenment is also not achieved in a moment, it is something towards which one has been moving through previous lives.

you require a good soul, a good helpful personality and a heart full of compassion and love for all living things. this is also developed over previous births. in addition, you should be following the various paths towards attaining your goal i.e. bhakti marg, dhyana/sadhana marg, seva marg, yoga marg, . etc some of which have been listed by gentleman above.

Different stages are in Enlightenment. 1. Jivanmuktas. 2.Siddhas. 3.Avatars. Jivanmukta is a YOGI who has no desire &, burnt his karma. Siddha or Paramukta is a soul who has freed himself from physical, astral & causal karma. This is salvation. Avatars;- A divine incarnation who may retun to earth

enlightenment. i'd rather have knowledge than a false salvation. unless ironically the enlightenment was that there actually is a 'salvation', in which case i would be in some sort of paradox...quite the quander.
