Rancho Capistrano came highly recommended by theknot magazine. We checked it out ourselves and were impressed because it is nice and very cheap! No tax on the food and you can bring alcohol in without a corkage fee. They gave me an estimate of $15,000 for 250 guests...which was a steal because every other venue we went to quoted us almost double because of the service fee and taxes. Unfortunately the date that we wanted was not available. Make sure you make an appointment with a consultant asap because they get booked very quickly. When we were there...there were 2 other couples inquiring about weddings. In the meantime check out their website

Good luck and hope this helps =)

if you need to keep it cheap see if a friend has a big enough house you can use. If you find a beach side restaurant with reasonable banquet prices you can get married on the beach. Also some parks are adjacent to restaurants. If you don't mind Mexican food then Moreno's in Orange has very reasonable rates for their banquet room (which looks like an old Spanish church). Our friends got married at a park near Lincoln and Tustin ave in Orange and had their reception in a restaurant next door.

Why have it in Orange County? Why not have it in some small town in California, and just a small ceremony with a few friends and family? Everyone would love the road trip, and many small towns have a very inexpensive facility (for example, the Elk's Club).

Depends on what you think cheap is really, try hotels, they normally have packages that are reasonable. It also depends on how many guest and what kind of food you will be serving, what day, and time. Try theknot.com too. After you book the place everything else goes smoother. Best wishes and good luck, I hope I helped.
