a thin layer of vaseline overnight will help ease the chapped burning feeling. just use a soft cloth with warm water to wash your face in the morning. then put another thin coat of vaseline on. if you want to be extra cautious--try it on a small area for the night instead of your whole face. if that area feels & looks better in the morning, do your whole face

I wouldn't do vaseline... that might make you break out. Stop using whatever you were using that made your face dry. If you can afford it, get a lancome moisturizer. Really expensive but I had the same thing, my skin was soooo dehydrated and it worked. Maybe try an aloe moisturizer if you can't afford much. Aloe has healing properties and is great for the skin (ie: if you get burns, it heals so I am sure it would heal your face). Drink lots and lots of water to keep your skin hydrated... Oh, another brand that is cheaper than lancome that worked for me is vichy. Don't buy anything without asking someone who works there! Explain your situation and if they know what they are doing, which they should because they work there, they can recommend the exact product best for your skin type. Is your skin typically oily but now dehydrated because of this product? You would need to specify this before you buy anything because you will get the best results this way. Good luck and sorry you are going through that! I know what it feels like.

Use a high quality water-based moisturizer, without alcohol as a base. I hate to say it, but quality of the moisturizer is somewhat proportional to its cost, to a degree. A good bottle of moisturizer should run no more than $25.
Also, drink plenty of water and eat properly, including a healthy does of omega-3 fatty acid foods like avocado, nuts, olive oil, and salmon. Nutrition is THE answer to good skin, despite what cosmetics companies tell you.
Lastly, stay away from alcohol treatments (like for acne) in face washes, and do NOT apply vaseline or some other goopy oil-based product. Thats a sure fire way to break out.

I found the best product in the world to help with the lack of moisture that you are probably feeling - the product is called, "Extra Emollient Cream" from Mary Kay - If you have a consultant near by, I implore you to contact them for a free sample & try it at night & see what a difference it makes by morning - I use the product @ night/day = It is also really good for exzema .. Good Luck ... I truly believe in the product..

You can get a moisturizing cleanser at the drug store. They have a whole aisle for these things, but you need to pick out the brands that best suits you. You can also use oatmeal. Just cook some and leave it on your face when it cools for about 15 minutes and then rinse it off.

1] throw out the product!
2] ask mom for a benadryl [ reduces inflammation ]
3] vaseline is an excellent moisturizer
Any unscented, non comedogenic moisturizer will work.

I would switch to a creamy moisturizer or intense moisturizer twice a day until it gets back to normal. For washing your face, use a sensitive skin cleanser like Neutrogena. Since it hurts, you may want to go to a dermatologist and get a prescription for something stronger.

Try Almay moisturizer. It is hypoallergic so it will not clog your pores or break you out.
