There is no such thing as a melian parrot & I couldn't find anything similar either...
Can you describe the bird or put up a picture for us?

I couldn't figure out what species this may be either, unless you are perhaps talking about a Mealy amazon. There is also an Australian parrot called the Mallee ringneck.
