Religion is someone who goes by a set of rules dictated by a religion, such as Baptist, Buddhism, Catholic, Methodist, Judaism, etc.
Spiritualism is someone who does not follow the rules of any set religion. They follow only God or a Higher Power. They are not bound by anything but God or a Higher Power. It is my belief that Spiritualist are closer to God than Religious people are. I know I am going to get a lot of hate mail for making that statement, but that is my belief and I truly believe that to be Spiritual is better than being Religious. I was born and raised Catholic, turned Southern Baptist, and then started to study all religions and found that there is some good in all of them, and if you take the good from all of them, then you become a Spiritualist and you can obtain a closer relationship with God because you are not bound by rules and doctrine, etc. Religious people do not know what they are missing-and they are missing out on a great deal by limiting themselves to their church doctrine.

That's a hard one, Religion I view two way's, when I first think of religion I think of an organized belief system, almost like a political system. I have problems equating God with that. How ever I also believe religion also represents peoples faith's and unity. As for spirituality, I think it's naturally part of us. I think we all have a need to believe in something more. I choose to believe in God. Some people believe in other things..but one thing I do think, to be spiritual does not mean you have to be part of a religion..

Religion - An organized set of religious beliefs that many people believe the same, follow as a group, and have a person given the power of religious authority instructing them.
Spirituality - No organization, buildings, or books, a person who believes in and develops their own personal beliefs by what they feel is correct and in a more private way, no group mentality.

My definition of "spiritual" is anything that deals with anything other than the material world.
To me a person's spirit, is their hopes, dream, fears, loves & thoughts. No belief in God, no attendance at church mandatory, to have a spiritual side.
I consider myself an agnostic-spiritual-humanist.
Religioun, is basically the different organizations that have formed to understand the spiritual side of life.

Finding a peace within yourself and peace with Gods purpose. If you are able to find that, then how much more you will be able spread peace to others. Inner happiness is the result of doing what is good.
