What does painting has to do with doughnut making or cooking? Ask this in a cooking section.

You can probably just cook these dough nuts in vegetable oil, or even peanut oil (sunflower too, but I 'd avoid olive oil). I bet someone was making a recipe from memory and mixed up "vegetable" and "salad." Salad oil exists but, as the name suggest, it's for salads.

It is a misprint. It should read salad not sald.

I like to use olive oil...
Virgin olive oil is the best...
But olive oil goes rancid if it gets old so
you have to use it up in a month or two....
