God tells us that He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west...did you know that once you begin to travel east that you will NEVER reach west? (not true with north and south) satan is the one that reminds us of those things in our past he is the one that is the accuser of the brethren. When he continues to do this with your thoughts remind him of his future and remember that when Jesus was tempted by satan He quoted what scripture says...It is written, it is written it is written. This is an example for us so that when satan comes, and he WILL, we are to also know what the Bible says and tell him it is written...so in answer to your question of how do you know that your misdeeds are forgiven...GOD says they are!! Once you have accepted Jesus Christ into your heart (Roman 10:9 and 10)

I had a similar experience as the one you mention. I sought salvation for quite some time, before I had full faith that I was forgiven. The Bible says that "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" - so basically that means that you need to read the Bible. Once I started reading, really studying it, it became clearer and I gained the faith to fully believe and understand without doubts.
The Bible also says that when we do become Christians that the Holy Spirit "bears witness" with our spirits - meaning that he gives us assurance that we are saved from our sins. I know this is true because I've experienced it. From the moment the faith "light bulb" went on for me, I've never had a doubt (about 12 years ago now), but I was doubt-filled before. I once heard someone say "there won't be any surprised people in heaven" and I believe that.
The magnitude of your sin is not important. Christ forgave the thief hanging on the cross beside him and crucifixion was reserved for the vilest of offenders at the time. Mary Magdalene was one of Jesus' best friends and she was a prostitute before she met him. Paul persecuted and murdered Christians before he met Christ and converted.
The point is, any sin separates us from God. It's kind of a black and white issue. God is holy, so he doesn't tolerate ANY sin - so even a sin as small as a lie is enough to separate us from God. Once you've accepted Christ, your sins past and present are forgiven, however. And don't ever be confused by thinking that we can be good enough or do enough to get us to heaven. If that was true, we wouldn't need a savior, nevermind the fact that none of us would ever get there because we can't be perfect!
The book of Romans is the best source for information about what you have to believe/do to become a Christian and what true salvation is all about. I would suggest that you read it until you're sure you understand it. If you continue to seek, you will find what you're looking for! I'll say a prayer for your journey and I wish you well.

What great misdeed or blackest sin have you committed?
If you stoled, lied and lived like a fool;then get in line.I have done all of those things and I am forgiven.
I have no power to fight evil,it always wins.
You open a door by turning the knob and pulling it open.
To let Jesus in,unlock the door and do not be afraid to let Him in.
The door is a metaphor,it is asking a question.
Do you want to keep living like this;or do you want God to take over?
I fought that battle for years and I know how you feel.My life had to crash around me before I opened it.
I did open it however.
Why would you misdeeds not be forgiven?Everyone else that came to Him had theirs forgiven, that is a pretty good track record on forgiveness.

"Footprints in the Sand"
by Mary Stevenson
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that
once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me." The Lord replied,
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would
never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I Carried You."
***Carol, Whenever I wonder if God ever hears my prayers, I read this poem. Stay in the Word. Also find others that will keep you encouraged.***

you shouldn't question the how, but accept the word that your sins are forgiven, it's all done on faith...
a sin is a sin... whether you told a little white lie, or stole something... it's still a sin... when you ask for forgiveness and repent for your sins, then you should believe that God has forgiven you... why make things hard on yourself questioning whether all have been forgiven?
isn't it a good thing, that all it takes is repentance and accepting God in life and all is forgiven? try asking for forgiveness when you've broken any laws....
you'll be spending time behind before you can blink two times....

I had the same problem of wondering if my sins were forgiven after I asked Jesus to do so. Then I learned that BELIEVING means TRUSTING that what God said is true. When you trust someone's words you act on them, like believing that pushing the light-switch will make the room bright. Believing alone doesn't turn on the light, the action of pushing the switch does.
So, when you have asked Jesus to forgive your sins, believe that what He said is true and then THANK Him. Thanking Him is acting by faith.

There is a story about a young man who loved God and wanted to live his life for God. Internally, he was conflicting with himself. He did not understand how all the bad things he had done could be forgiven in an instant. He kept praying and praying for God's help.
Finally, when he passed away and went to heaven, he met God. He told God all about his troubles and struggles. He asked God why He never helped him. God's reply was "My son, I heard your prayers and tried on many occasions to help. But how could I help you when you never could let go".
It is only by the grace of God that we are forgive. "Blood of my blood". Blood is the lifeline. The sacrificial offerings made by people of the ancient world knew that blood had to be offered to obtain salvation. Jesus Christ took on all sin on the cross and the very moment his blood was shed, he felt the weight of all that sin. He took on that sin so you would not have to sacrifice anymore. All you had to do was believe in him, believe in his teachings, honor the true God, and humble yourself before God in recoginition of that sin. It is not simply a matter of saying "I'm sorry". You have to feel it, mean it, and live it. Words are empty. Your heart and actions will grant you that salvation.
Keep praying. Ask God to reveal the answer to you. Be open to receiving that word. Remain patient and it will come to you when you least expect it......

the 1st question premised that it became into truthfully God knocking on the door. The save on with-up clarification talks approximately some guy claiming to be my god. Very distinctive questions to me. The divine that i for my area have faith in exists with the aid of the universe, and extremely everyone has the alternative of being area of that divine know-how. God, interior the experience of the collective singularity of that know-how, has knocked on the doorways of my innovations often. each and every so often to declare hi, each and every so often to furnish me suggestion, each and every so often to kick me interior the pinnacle whilst i became into being stupid or close-minded. yet even if if i assumed interior the skill of the divine to incarnate right into a human-shaped kit, no such id would be required. And any attempt with the aid of him to coach he became into gets extremely stupid. Or positioned yet in any different case, interior the placement above, i'd tell him that my place of work hours are Mondays and Wednesdays 10-4, and if he needs to debate faith or spirtuality, he can the two wait till then or ship me a imaginative and prescient earlier.

By what I believe Jesus died for all our sins as long as we ask our heavenly father for forgiveness with a true heart. I don't think when Jesus died for our sins he had an exception clause stating he would not forgive certain sins, except for,"MAYBE" suicide. I don't know your sins, that's between you and God and Jesus but I'm sure there have been others who have committed sins just as bad or worse. Many have looked to God for guidance and have received it. God loves you just as much as any one else that walks his earth. Just keep believing in him, he hears you. I think maybe he's forgiven you. I think now he wants you to for give yourself. Do that and I think then that door will open.

To believe what God says ....is a choice...not an emotion. God said that if you confess your sin He will forgive us.
1 John 1:9 If we choose to not believe what He says then it
would be like calling God a liar.
