Um I have no idea what my sound card is but I know I have a dell 4700 if that tells you anything. Like I said, the drivers download didn't work at dell.com because there was only one audio thing to choose from and I downloaded it and then it told me its not compatible with my computer so I don't know what to do now!

See a repairman, or take it to a shop. If you'd rather do it yourself, There are software tools (I use AIDA) that will tell you what sound device you have. Once you know that, it may be possible to get the driver from the device manufacturer's website.

There should be a disc labeled Recovery also look for any CD's that came with your PC, because one of those disk has the Audio Drive you need to install your sound. I had to find my disc after I re-installed Windows Vista. You can also download the Audio file you need to get your sound working again from the internet.
