I would say no.
But that's really hard to say directly. It seems a cornerstone for the determination of intelligence is curiosity. A questioning mind seems to have a key ingredient in the definition of intelligence. Most atheists arrived at their current beliefs because they asked many hard questions that cannot be satisfactorily explained under current Christian etc. tenents/doctrines. Is this a mushy answer yes.

Many have tried and failed to make the correlation. I think if you hone the question down a bit the answer is obvious.

Many who believe in "God" are of high intelligence, but anyone claiming mankind actually crawled out of the Earth 6000 years ago at the will of some mystical creator would fall under the category of "extremely dull".

Are Atheists more intelligent than religious believers?

It's a dumb question.

Are Creationists dumb?

That's a better question.

Generally, yes. That's because Christians are the majority, and the people who are content to not consider their actions and beliefs stay Christian. Atheists, generally, are more skeptical and evaluate all their attitudes and beliefs, not just religion. And that is a sign of intelligence.

Frankly, the statistics would not show such a stark difference if not for all the trailer trash who profess Christianity.

And none of that says all Christians are unintelligent, or that religious belief is necessarily a sign of lower intelligence. Rather, atheism is, again generally, a sign of intelligence.

No, but normally the Atheists like to use their intelligent than the religious believer one whom often say that the another one is fool.

Varies from person to person. I really don't think that a certain religion or non-religion has a claim on smarts. That being said, people who think critically may reject religion and instead declare themselves atheist. However, that doesn't mean that just because you're religious you're not smart. Some of the worlds greatest minds were religious.

Not really. I had seen really intelligent religious people. The professors here working with me are very intelligent, and I felt almost all of them have very high intellect.

I'll put up my ex 30 yr atheist brain that is now 100% spiritual that holds multiple degree's and has hospital tested IQ of 146 against any so called atheist here. If you actually think being either way has anything to do with intelligence, wisdom or insight. Then I don't know what to tell you. Cause my atheist side is what led me to the spirital side.

for they are children that claim to have a title, yet have no clue what a true atheist is, acts or performs. cause what I see here is clearly not athesim. Its more outcasts of religion that are mad and call themselves atheists just to claim a title.

No I do not see that because many scientists, doctors, etc are religious believers so they have great intelligence, I bet many in MENSA are members of religious groups.

I would say no, not in a general way. There are intelligent believers, and not so intelligent believers. There are intelligent atheists and not so intelligent atheists.
